6. Elsom

22. Gerrard
I dont think he will want to make complete clean outs, its not his style, i think he will retain many of the senior members like Latham, Tuqiri, Mortlock, Sharpe and Smith for a little while to keep the leadership groups together before he starts to make the changes.
Then i imagine the front row and the back row will be a big point of concern, i think the back line will be pretty much sorted apart from who is going to be on the wings. Deans likes to have a 2nd 5/8 in the back line which is good news for Barnes, with decent speed out wide(to bad gerrard).
I think towards the Tri-Nations we could have a team that looks a bit like this.
1. Holmes
2. Moore
3. Whalley
4. Sharpe (C)
5. Vickerman
6. Elsom
7. Pockok
8. Brown
9. Cordingley (vc)
10. Giteau
11. Mitchell
12. Barnes
13. Mortlock
14. Turner
15. Latham
Mortock seems to under pressure with captaincy, whilst Sharpe and Cordingley seem to perform well with the captaincy.
what about Shep he or Staniforth? I would of thought that Shep would be on the wing before Turner?
Spanner would be contending for a bench spot cause of versatility but unless he gets a few games as inside under his belt....
I hope he gets a chance this weekend.
I would put shep before turner and tuqiri the only thing with lote is his articles thats the only reason we hear his name not because of his performances
I think Staniforth only has the chance of starting if he goes to outside centre, Deans likes to have a 2nd ball player at inside centre, Staniforth plays more of a direct style, he would definetly be second choice outside centre behind mortlock though.
I would like Staniforth on the bench, but if Deans goes for a 5 - 2 split, then they will probably want someone a bit more versatile like Gerrard, who can if required fill in at 5/8.
