Jake Ball - The one that got away
Ball captained Surrey under-15s rugby team before heading to Australia, and he was training with the Western Force Super Rugby squad when the Scarlets spotted him before quickly offering him a three-year contract in 2012.
Less than two years later, he broke into the Wales squad, making his Test debut as a replacement against Ireland during last season’s Six Nations before starting against France and England.
He also toured South Africa with Wales in June, featuring during the agonising 31-30 second Test defeat in Nelspruit, and Ball is viewed as an important part of head coach Warren Gatland’s second-row armoury alongside the likes of Alun-Wyn Jones, Bradley Davies and Luke Charteris.

TALK about a balls-up — BBC Sport has been left red-faced after listing Wales rugby player Jake Ball as “Jake Ballsack” on its website.
Ball was named in the Wales starting XV to face the Wallabies at Millennium Stadium at the weekend, but a different name appeared on BBC Sport’s team previews page.
It was picked up by Wales centre Jamie Roberts, who was only to happy to share the mistake with his Twitter followers.
The BBC later apologised to Ball, who played his sixth Test for Wales in the 33-28 loss to the Wallabies.
“We are investigating how this error occurred and the piece was amended as soon as it was spotted,” a BBC spokesperson said.
“We apologise for any offence that may have been caused.”
Ball himself seemed to see the funny side. We think.
