Albany junior rugby
Monday and Tuesday saw Albany's junior rugby development days. Day one- a beautiful sunny day, lots of kids and a good start to proceedings with under 8s , under 10s and then under 14s going through their paces, a great step forward. The clincher was day 2 though, with Albanys usual jeckyll and hyde weather true to form, but despite the downpour 30 kids still turned up and had a great time playing the great game. This is the start as Albany are now pushing ahead with junior rugby on sundays, starting 27th August at the Royals ground!!

Great news with the juniors there dave. Good to see albanys seniors side also growing in numbers in the last few weeks too.

we have to grow the game- having one set of juniors(ie katanning) is like having one railway station, so hopefully this will give some competition for Krushers and be a catalyst for other towns. Theres talk of Mt. Barker and Denmark having the junior juniors, ie u12s, that means regular rugby at club level for the first time in Great Southern- lets run with the ball!!
