if they are club players, how fit are they going to be considering it is off season right now.
do premiership grades start pre season earlier?
I haven't cross checked the names palitu but the article indicates most are Academy players, so you would assume they have been training with the main Squad over summer.
I wonder if Ted will go postal on someone. Boo.
Hunt boosts Manawatu
Saturday, January 16, 2010
RENOWNED New Zealand sevens player Nigel Hunt has been included in the Manawatu team to play at the Digicel Suva International 7s next weekend.
The former Kiwi rep, who has played against Fiji many times in the black jumper, will strengthen the Manawatu side.
Another interesting name, which will play at the tournament, is Koiatu Koiatu, who is part of the Western Force side.
The Cook Islands skipper has played a number of years at the Wellington sevens for his home nation and raised eye brows with his name and style of play.
Mitch Hardy, Rugby WA General Manager, Rugby had earlier said the Force were "extremely keen" to take part in the Digicel Suva Rugby Festival and very much looking forward to the trip.
"The Western Force team that we will bring to Suva will be a highly competitive side comprised of all professional players with the minimum being academy level," Hardy had said.
"The Digicel Suva Rugby Festival provides us with a great opportunity as the Western Force embark on a new programme for 7s rugby in 2010."
