Still not a world champion team but it's about the best combo i can name and has more mongrel in it up front than last nights.
What's with the man love for Higginbotham, he didn't do a damn thing in that game, seagulled out in the centres where the sum total of his contribution was to drop the ball at crucial moments.
I'd bring on cliff Palu before him at the moment and anybody who reads this forum knows how I feel about Palu.
We need a real backrow, because that's the only place we have a chance of competing, the team hasn't got the skills or the ticker to back up their gift tri nations of last year.
Is Palu fit to play yet because if he is id have him on the bench in place of Mowen. Higgers is one Aussie backrower who can win his contact which is why i picked him. Ditto Samo, Alexander and Neville, they are more effective in contact for mind. Digby to 13 where he can get more involved. Quade to 15 for his counter attack, Beale to 10 where he played his best rugby this year. Horne to 12 because there's no one else until McCabes fit and Faingaas not up to test footy.
My Team would be
1 Slipper
2 Moore
3 Kepu
4 Sharpe
5 Douglas
6 Higgers
7 Pocock/Hooper
8 Samo (50mins)
9 Genia

Feel sorry for the guys who work in retail though...they will be required to work longer hours, for probably the same pay...:( There isn't anymore money to spent...just stretched further for the extra day and a half....since I now have to work Saturday mornings I will welcome the extra day...but maybe I will be required to work Sunday too.....Hmmmmmm???? Time will tell.....:(.....
Sorry back to topic....:(
There is no way Beale should be selected. Apart from the morality concerns, his headspace is clearly cluttered with thoughts other than catching and tackling - like the possibility of going to jail for assault (or did his hairstylist get it wrong).
Mitchell has done precisely nothing to warrant selection, and cannot by definition be match fit
Pocock has injured his knee
Robinson needs a spell (ie a good swift kick up the @r$e)

Beating the Blecks is all about attitude.
The only way to beat them is to get them on the backfoot. Any team going backwards makes mistakes.
To do this the Wobs need to move up fast in defence and hit them hard everytime. Like Rex said they need to hurt them and then hurt them again.
Remember that test not that long ago when the Wobs did exactly that? They actually had the Blecks going backwards and they were hurting them, you could see them losing some of their composure and structure. Their players were coming off injured.
I think a number of the Wallabies feel too secure in their selection. Deans picked 8 players from a very poor performing Waratahs side. What was that saying to those Brumbies players who played well above expectation this year?
If Deans picks the same side again he can expect the same result. As it stands now we are in for a pasting at Eden Park so why not bring in Slipper, Moore, Neville etc in the forwards and give Mogg or Cummins a go in the backs just to let the lot of them know their selection is not a given?
Horne was ok at 12 in the RWC, he might get back to form at 12 although like i said theres little room to move also in Deans' system his 12 is just a bash and crash player anyway ala McCabe, plus it allows our most dangerous back Ioane to actually touch the ball more than once a game if hes at 13 which also opens up the wing for the Honey Badger
