I need to change my sign to "Bye Bye Eddie, you just couldn't shut up..."
Saw it coming, and welcome it with open arms, only regret that i was late on the uptake as enjoying a really nice break from work and ignored news and current affairs for a whole week...So Adios Eddie, and don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out...

I respect what Eddie has achieved - but have to admit he hasn't handled things as well as he should of late -guessing much of it could have be contained by better management in the ARU- I wish him all the best - and thank him sincerely for the RWC 2003 memories

Frontrow's blood pressure thanks him for leaving the country now

Eddie was stuck in a bit of a time warp really. The whole multi-phase fully sripted thing worked for a while, but doesn't seem to now. Blame referees' interpretations, the gradual demise of rucking and the 'Richie McCaw ruck entry' for that. Eddie didn't adapt enough, and I think the pressure that came with the Wallabies spot (for the last year or two) and the Reds really made the risk of changing a whole style of preparation, selection and on-field management too hard to take.
