These blokes are nearly as bad as scalpers. I'd bet none of those boys would be happy about signing a jersey if they knew it would be auctioned for personal gain so soon after. Those public training sessions etc. are for the supporters. Prick.

If you are auctioning this to donate to charity or community groups, whoever you are, if you're looking, you shoulda said so in the item description. Otherwise you're still a prick.

It's just that I've really hated scalpers and their ilk since I went to Ealsie's last match. A kiwi feller ended up sitting next to us. He'd just had to pay one of the
bastards $250 for an $85.00 ticket cause he'd got on the piss the night B4 and lost the wallet. Said it was a trip in a lifetime so he wasn't gonna miss out whatever the cost.

I suppose the upside is he could still get in, but I still hate 'em.

Sorry guys, I don't disagree with much you say, but I have to disagree with you on this one (at the risk of some negative green square kudos action!)

These people do provide a public service to the Force Fan. True, a died in the wool Force Fan may prefer to get amongst the boys and get the signatures themselves, but the people buying these jerseys from eBay are still dedicated Force fans that either cannot get down to the training sessions or choose not to and are prepared to pay for the service.

The BIG difference between what these guys do and scalpers is that scalpers buy up tickets that are limited in supply. If you want a ticket and they're sold out, it could well be because a scalper went and bought them up with the view to getting the suckers that couldn't get the tickets in the first place. With what the eBayers do, you don't have to buy it this way, you can still opt to go buy a blank jersey and get it signed yourself - its not like the ones on eBay are the only ones on the planet! (like scalped tickets are)

As I stated earlier in the thread, I purchased mine this way. I don't see that this makes me any less of a fan as I have found it hard to make it to the public sessions. Also Rugby WA have been promising signed and framed jerseys as a part of their Memorabilia collection since last November! (still without getting their act together - remember it took them 14 months to get any "First Game" stuff together - who knows when the "First Home Win" will be ready.

For mine WF, I'm not criticizing those who purchase the items if they can justify the price, that's anyone’s prerogative.
What annoys me is it is these type of "suppliers" if you like who attend every opportunity to get people to sign stuff and generally over do it for your day to day punter who might want to have a quick chat with the player etc as they get jaded by the "pro's" constantly hitting them up.
The world comes down to supply and demand I guess which is how the behaviour of the paparazzi is justified in how they deal with and are dealt with by celebrities.
I guess my beef isn't a Force specific thing, more a generalisation and I just hope that such constant memorabilia vendors don't wreck it for the rest of us.
Fair chance that these blokes would also be peddling Eagles, Dockers and Glory gear too.

We get 'stalkers' at the theatre... they hang around stage door to get signatures and then put the programmes or whatever on ebay. Same faces all the time and I'm sure half the time they don't know or care whose signature they're getting. But it means stars have to run the gauntlet on arrival, unless they get driven right to the door and get inside quickly, which must be annoying, and it probably does spoil it for genuine fans.
