    What's happening around the clubs?

Here we are, less than three weeks before the start of the season and nary a snippet of information ('cept from me) as to what is happening out therein club land.

How have the pre season scatch matches gone? Who has got what in the way of new talent? Who are the new coaches in the comp and what is their background? What is the latest club gossip? Who's run off with who's wife?

Come on, ther's got to be something out there that doesn't revolve around the Force, as important as it is.

    Let's be multi dimensional!

Well, two Saturdays ago, Uni v Wests at McGillivray, we had to play at right angles to where the pitch usually is because of a cricket match also in progress. Cones to mark the ground, no posts, 42 degrees in the shade, fantastic!

Wests coach said he had a few imports from the shaky isles but also a few key people (trained front rowers) missing - some playing in the Challenge Cup. So all scrums (expect U/19s on first) were uncontested. All day.

There'd have been a great time to practice with the new scrum calls.....

Can't remember much talent, too hot. Sorry.

its a preseason game....anything can happen. Uni have soaks this weekend. Still a few key players out with injury so will really have to wait until the start of the season to see.

A few here and there....i wouldn't say we've gone nuts like some of the river residing clubs. New coach has certainly helped things, it has made a huge difference. Good attitude and team spirit building steadily. Depth is always a problem and may well still be.

Perth-Bayswater just got a glimpse of the future of Australian rugby. My boy finally made it to his first Under 6's training session....

    Good deal Coach!

I think you should raffle off one of his signed jersey. It will be worth big $$ in 13 or 14 years!

Dwayne Nestor was skills coach last year. This year he has stepped up as head coach replacing Jerry Scott who was at Uni for four years. Has made a big difference. The boys have really responded to him.
