    "Western Force have been dealt a major blow ahead of tomorrow night's Super 14 rugby clash with the Queensland Reds, with Matt Giteau and halves partner Matt Henjak late withdrawals through injury.

    Giteau's slight groin strain, and Henjak's bruised bicep forced coach John Mitchell to restructure his scrumbase, with Jimmy Hilgendorf slotting in at five eighth and Chris O'Young promoted to halfback.

    Lachlan Mackay and apprentice John McGrath have been promoted into the squad.

    Mitchell said the changes were precautionary, with both expected to return after next week's bye.

    The Kiwi coach also said there had been no pressure from the ARU to rest Giteau to prevent further injury."

    Interesting - pressure from the ARU or not, I wonder if this coincidentally clears any sit-out obligations (like Sharpie's back giving out against a team with significantly reduced tall timber).
