Thumbs up NRL Season 2007 Discussion Thread

Thought I might start a thread up for the (few) leaguies who post in here.

Please state who you follow in the NRL too, and let's try and keep it as friendly as possible

I myself follow the Eels. I had no choice, I was born with Blue and Gold blood. They have won 2 premierships in my lifetime and I wasn't old enough to remember the last one

Not a big follower of the code but I do enjoy watching matches when I can and often stay up late to watch The Footy Show in Winter.
They ruined it in WA by hardly ever broadcasting matches at acceptable times of the day after the Super League years.
I've followed the Broncos since they were formed, primarily as they were the first Queensland based team and also as they share the same colours with Scotch College.
Have a soft spot for the Rabbitohs too though so I get both ends of the Premiership race

Watched a bit of live League when I was working in the NW of England.....Wigan were ones I went for. Like Burgs, I'll watch it if it's on but without Foxtel it's hard to get anything at a decent hour in WA.

Oh yeah, that reinds me thanks Jedi, in terms of NH League then Wigan is my team too.
Reason there was the first time I ever watched a NH match was the Final between Wigan and Warrington a fair few years back, during the mid 90's as I recall.
Knew nothing about either team (or any others for that matter!) so almost with a coin toss chose Wigan as "my team", I think that was the first of three premierships in a row

we have the same problem with RU in Sydney.

The force is one of the main reasons I subscribed to Foxtel this year. Along with the cricket WC.

In the English Super League, I follow the Hull Kingston Rovers who are coached by my favourite ever Eel, Justin Morgan

    Hey guys,

Just to let you all know, without making this seem like a 90.5 plug , but we will be broadcasting at least 2 NRL games per week.

Friday nights from 5.20pm through to 7.30pm
Sundays 11.30am to 4pm (however this may change to 12pm to 3pm/4pm but you will still receive a match broadcast)

This will be our third season covering the NRL. We will also broadcast EVERY State of Origin game plus every finals game bar 1 or 2. Grand Final of course will be broadcast.

The broadcast team is 2GB's Continuous Call Team and if you want to give them a call it's 131 873.

With the Friday night games, obviously there will be some clashes with the Force so of course the Force will be our first priority. The first week, March 16, being a prime example however we should be able to get the first half in. I believe the first game will be the Storm and the Tigers.

Anyway, I hope you guys can listen in during the season and give the boys a call! BTW, I'm a Bulldogs man.

    Take it easy.

Bulldogs, eh? Man after my own heart then

I listened into the Continuous Call Team a few times on Sundays last season. Thought it would be OK but was sadly dissasppointed. All they seem to do is dribble shit and Give Darryl Brohman a hard time. Might give 'em a call and suggest a bit more RL talk for the deprived listeners in WA.

Hey TWF moderators. What's the go with RL threads? I got no probs discussing RL but should any threads be in "other sports" or something?

There is talk about RU trying to lure him and Tahu to rugby. Not sure if that means Tahs or not.

Do you watch RL? How do you think they'd go? Personally I think Tahu could adapt but I struggle to see how signing Grothe would benefit them. He is a lazy trainer and is suspect in defence. But he is hot. lol

I'd love to see Tahu playing for the tahs, Grothe... Hmm, not so sure. Maybe he could sing at halftime?

One of the nicest guys you could ever meet, but I think music is where his heart is, not footy. Would be interesting to see how good he could be if he fully committed himself to footy. He runs exactly like his old man.

Tahu would be good on the wing in RU because even while playing centre for Parra he cannot pass the ball. He starves Grothe of the ball in every game. The only way Guru gets his hands on the ball is through a cut out ball.
