Growden Grumbles

I suppose we should have come to expect this.....but looking at Rugby Heaven this morning I was eagerly awaiting to see what the press on the eastern seaboard had to say about the being the only Australian side to win on the weekend.

But what do we get?? A grumble about Tahs missing Sailor....Brumbies and Red losing but playing well....and the Force???

I completely agree - and I'm from the east coast. I know that the Stormers aren't exactly top quality opposition, but the first win by the Force this year deserved better. As for his praise of Wendell Sailor, OH COME ON! Sailor was the most overpaid, over rated show pony going around. As for Murray Mextead's comments about Queenslanders, yeah right, this coming from that most significant and influential country in the world - New Zealand. No more needs to be said.

If you watched the TV it was all about the East coast, Fox & the ABC focussed on those games, we may as well not be here. Yet the Force make the finals watch them band wagon hop. Reds though are looking much better under Jones. Maybe the ARU were too quick to sack him?
Force media I gather have never been good so is it any surprise?

They did however have a real live person doing real live score updates from watching Fox and then the Radio when Fox went down. Not quite as good as Burgs efforts though

I really can't understand why anyone in WA is surprised at anything in the Eastern States press. The Eagles, Dockers,Warriors, Wildcats..........................etc have been copping it for years.

Growden has always been a prick of the first order and to be fair he's actually employed by the Sydney Morning Herald. After living in WA since 1978 I can say that the WA press has ALWAYS been biased towards WA teams and sports. Fair enough, I suppose. How much rugby news did we see in The West before The Force?

However to try and lay the blame for a poor performance in SA, let alone losing last years final at the feet of W.Sailor begars belief.

But seeing as his article is in Rugby Heaven as well as the SMH you'd suppose he could at least give a brief "well done" to The Force
