    AT LAST!!!!!

I don't give a rat's clacker about the scoreline, it is insignificant.
AT LAST, after nearly two months on the road, this group of Australians have shown some heart, they shown some belief and they have shown a way forward!!!
They believed in each other and they trusted each other.
I honestly wouldn't have minded (well, not too much) if we actually lost on this performance, the fact is we finally played as a team and we played as if the jersey and Cap meant something.
The one negative would have to be Moore's throw in as it was very much sub Test standard an dsub standard for him, he is better than that and everyone in the squad would know that as well.
Stanners absolutely straightened the backline up and when he wasn't featuring in attack he was pivotal in defence and generally gave a better balance to the team and seemed to have a steadying influence as well.
He was like a fourth backow in defence.
Elsom has proved an enigma for me for the last year but what he may ocassionally cough up in discipline he certainly makes up for in spades in the loose and with a presence in the tight.
At last we have seen a way forward.
At last we have seen a pride in the Wallaby jersey.
At last Australians can hold our heads up for a Test Performance.
Personally I feel sorry for Scotland for having to host the Wallabies at this stage of the Tour as they were in a no win scenario, however they played a mighty match and will undoubtably improve on the back of tonights experience.
It is not the last we will hear from this proud Scottish unit!
So, if I had to pick a twenty two man squad for the World Cup Final right now then I would have the following however, I reserve the right to repick when I am receiving less assistance from the Bear!

    1. Greg Holmes
    2. Tai McIsaac
    3. Guy Shepherdson
    4. Daniel Vickerman
    5. Nathan Sharpe
    6. Rocky Elsom
    7. Phil Waugh
    8. David Lyons
    9. Matt Giteau

    Im guessing your happy Burgs?
Good win. Rocky got angry and played well. Larkham had a blinder. THey all looked buggered after the game so im guessing they really put in the hard yards.

    It just keeps getting better

TEF, that was a vital injury too, Simon Webster was looking very dangerous again.
He is certainly a world class player and I have enjoyed watching him more than any other Scot in the last couple of years, there is a real magic to how he plays.
Hope that he is back on deck soon and that they weren't too mean at

Best performance i've seen all year. We played well and the best thing is that there is plenty of room for improvement.

Not a Rodzilla fan Burgs? I'd still pick Palu over Lyons too.

Rest of that lineup looks fantastic.

there were regular flashes of brilliance from the wallabies - the scottish defence was pretty good!!

I thought the ref completly lost control of the match in the last 20 minutes of the game!

Yeah Sage, I am a big supporter of Blake however, Shepherdson has done little wrong in a pretty crappy scrum through the Tour.
By the time we get to France we may well see Blake back as the pick.
I don't see him as a bench option though as Robinson has the backrow ability for the tail end of the game and an excellent technical ability in the scrum.
Blake for me is more of a starting battering ram to asorb the early hits.
Robinson must go in for Baxter, he showed greater endevour in this match than the some total of Trestle's entire International season.
Having heard of the pain that Lyons was playing with during S14 and seeing him at least equal Palu in his first Test back I think that Lyons deserves his place back at this stage but can also understand a preference for Palu.

Palu has had a tendancy during the S14 to disappear for phases of the game. Apart from against the Irish, it seems to me he's been firing on all cylinders in the green and gold. Lyons had a pretty good 2005 Super 12 but haven't seen him in great form since then. Based on the Scots test he could be worth another look but for mine, only one more look.
