Post Hong Kong to Play WA Presidents XV in Perth

Hong Kong had a bad day today, going down to the WA Presidents 15 by 17 to 81.The small crowd of about 100 spectators saw some expansive rugby by WA who completely overwhelmed the opposition.

I'm sure Fulvio would probably say Rob Solloti, Andrew Turner, Jerry Viriki, James Stannard and Nems Momo?

To be honest, I saw very little of the game for any length of time-was busy selling raffle tickets to help fund Palmyra's trip to the Singapore 7s.
From what I did see there was a tremendous fitness gap between the two sides, especially in the forwards. Their no.3 prop was shaped like me! Best players for WA included Kiti Fuluna, John Menehera, Ryan Symes and Jerry Viriki. Like I said, this game was not a true indication as WA took risks and therefore made errors they wouldn't otherwise have taken or made against stronger opposition. Likewise the tackling got lazy as the game progressed-hard to get enthusiastic when you are 50 odd points up.

I am amazed by the points dumped on the Hong Kong team.....different world eh? There were a couple of ex-Neddies players now playing for Hong Kong. Obviously a reality check for the Hong Kong squad.
I live in Hong Kong and will enjoy a bit of 'bragging' when they get back here! Dan Bailey (my eldest son) would have enjoyed watching it, having played for Hong Kong in the last Asian Games before moving to Perth and enjoying Nedlands and The WF Academy! He knew many players from both teams.
