Thrush ends retirement to lead Force to round 1 win over Rebels

Well blow me down. Justin Chadwick's piece in WA Today made the front page - online at least. That's a nice change from the usual "I see Nothing" cut and paste news from the Waratah focused SMH. Keep it up please Justin. You might just help get a decent crowd in.

    Never mind the Force.

The real question is, whether Wests Subiaco get to keep him as their head coach now he has rejoined the big boys.

I can't see him playing (and presumably training) full time with the Force and running some academy or other for them and still finding the time to organize a semi professional outfit like Wests with the attention the job deserves.

I think it will be hard to find any competent replacement for him with only a few weeks to the start of the season.

    Worrying.

    Care to comment, Westieman?

    My thoughts too Fulvio.
WS could look for a coach that won the premiership.
Oh that's right they had one but he was gone before the GF anyway.
    Sad, sad.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

Well, when your club changes its name as frequently as you change your socks, Rangi, you can I hope forgive me for not keeping up.

So, you have a new coach then? The financial logistics between your club and the Force must have been a nightmare.

Did you have your former coach locked in on a contract? If so, remember the Force have deep pockets.

How's your new coach doing Fulvio, Thrushy didn't want a cent to coach so there is no contract, we will do as we always do and get by but thanks for the concern anyway.

Bad move, no contract, especially for key personnel, even if they are volunteers, but as your post infers, life goes on.

Pally's new coach seems pleasant enough, and enthusiastic enough, but I've only seen him a couple of times, and hardly had an opportunity to speak to him.

Players may be our problem this season, not coaches.

    Wests Scarborough Rugby Union Club

By now you've all seen our Head Coach’s match winning performance for the Force last Saturday night.

Since then, there has been a bit of speculation around Thrushy’s role at Wests, and his availability for the rest of the 2023 FMG Premier Grade season. We can assure you that Jeremy is fully committed to our club and another really successful season at Wests this year.

With several injuries to key positions in the Force’s lineup, Jeremy was called upon to provide some onfield support. And while we are immensely proud to see another Boar fronting up for Super Rugby duties, it will only be in the short term. Thrushy is still leading our coaching team at training and preparing our players to take the field in Round 1.

We’d like to congratulate Jeremy on his short-lived “unretirement” and look forward to seeing him in the sideline down at The Pigpen!

Does anyone at Wests know how to spell "committee"?

Or know that Wests in the possessive use of the word has an apostrophe after the t and before the s?
