Agree with virtually all above so no point rehashing it I guess.
I see France '07 as being the changing of the guard for Australian Rugby with the current vetrans getting us through to then.
There are many great juniors coming through the ranks and I am sure Rogers could see the writing on the wall, he isn't getting started now so why would he even bench post France.
Thanks for some classic try moves Matty and hope you have an injury free run for the rest of your time with us

    Not only (un) Happy TIF......

    TIF :
After his old man passed the rumours were rife over east that this would be the case...not to the Gold Coast though. This Titans team is doing a FORCE with thier signings and poachings, come 2009/9 they could be real contenders if they get enough support from members to continue.
Great point there, I understand that the Gold Coast area is pretty strong in the support of league, lots of local support etc, they shouldnt have any trouble getting a fan base.

Couldn't agree more on that, like someone said, it takes a special athlete excel at the top of two different (although similiar) sports.

I wonder if Ryan Cross might do a similiar move down the track?

    cheers

As much as the Titan's would like to do a FORCE with their signings, they unfortuantely have a salary cap which will prevent any Giteasque salaries been dished out.. I've also read somewhere they are struggling to get a home ground after the gold coast made some time-share deal with an AFL club so they might be playing in Brisbane.

nice baiting the Force supporters that'll get em going. Perhaps Clinton S will do the same when he's like 40...

    - Sorry Moses, that one belongs to TIF...

The following belongs to Rugby Heaven:

"It's a great opportunity to start afresh," Rogers told reporters on the Gold Coast.

"It's been a tough 18 months for me and this is a great way to kick off a new part of my life."

He was looking forward to returning to live on the Gold Coast with his young family, having spent much of his teenage life there.

"I spent my formative years on the Gold Coast and it was the best days of my life," he said.

The birth of Rogers's third child, Max Danger, in June to model Chloe Maxwell helped Rogers come to the decision.

By Blindsid3:I guess that means that Max can honestly say "Danger is my middle name"

Sorry blindsid3, I was getting a little enthusiastic with the quote tag it seems... fixed it now

I agree Rogers has made a good move here - it'll let him spend more time with his family and minimise his time away from max

What makes (Rogers) think that he will get a game in the RWC 2007? I think that is a little presumptive on his part.

To be honest I think it was a mistake of the ARU to recruit Rogers, he is to small for Rugby, and his looooong run of injuries is a testament to that. Lote is the only former League player that has made a real go of Union (if we could just get him out of the habbit of shoulder charges), and he needs to be kept after the RWC.

I think it is more that his contract ends after the Cup Final and he is available until then Ex.
Bit like your mate Gregan "saying" the same thing when he actually means he will retire at the end of that contract.
