Ok well i need some help - Can somone out there with a small knowledge of Biology tell me what the differnce between a: Food web and a Food chain??

at the risk of sounding nerdy,
a food web has many branches from each level, for instance the providor would be grass, level one consumer would be ants, beetles etc, secondary would be birds, meerkats etc and so on. A food chain generally only has one consumer at each level. And to be strictly correct your providor would also be humous.

Well it depends on what the particular question has called for, they could be part of both. and they would be a Primary consumer.

And as tarsh says they arent any different to carnivors their link in the chain or web ends at a differnt part. eg, They dont eat the cow that ate the grass they just eat the grass....
