Does anyones know what he is doing? Because he is helping train the Hale 1st XV and has come down to help the yr 9 team train once, to help our forwards.

He is a really good bloke. Best of luck

The game was well played by Hale, they seem a lot more drilled, especially at the break down and out wide. I used to go to Trinity and have never seen the Trinity 1st XV beaten like that, it was a well deserved win to Hale (as much as it kills me to say it haha). Back in my day we were the dominant school, winning 8 straight championships, having 2 years off and winning again (my year 11 year).

As a W.F. supporter , we certainly wish Ben Darwin the best. even though it is not with the Force. Hopefully the rumours of problems are false, and the personal reasons be good ones. We certainly want everything to fall in place for Force before their next season.

Darwin explains why he quit Force

    June 26, 2006
    Perth Now (Sunday Times)

The Western Force's departing assistant coach Ben Darwin has cited personal reasons for quitting his role.
The former Wallaby's surprise news dealt a blow to the fledgling Super 14 team last week.

Darwin, who was the set piece coach in the Force's inaugural year, said of the decision: "I just need some time off. Everyone has been so supportive, but it has been very hard. I always wanted to be someone who tried things.

"It is not that coaching is not for me, I just think it is not for me right now.''

Darwin was a surprise recruitment for the Force, after having his playing career cut short by a neck injury in the 2003 World Cup semi-final win over the All Blacks at Telstra Stadium.

He retired after losing movement in his arms and legs for several minutes, but later thanked the quick thinking of opposition prop Kees Meeuws for saving him from more serious injury.

The 28-Test veteran had also been working with RugbyWA's community arm, coaching junior representative sides and at clubs and schools.

Darwin said he would be returning to the east coast in the coming weeks to spend time with friends and family, before reassessing his rugby coaching career.

Maybe reoccuring medical problems could be a factor in his decision.Good luck to him.

Maybe it's been just a bit overwhelming, after the heart break of retiring early to coaching. It's a high pressure job, and maybe he's just not ready yet?

A bit more insight into Ben Darwin - this is a great article/interview on the Reach Out site - well worth a read! It's great to see people like Ben putting it all out there to help others. Hope things come together for him!
