I'm willing to bet any amount of Vcash that he isn't named in the 22 as an outside back, i think the only way he could make it is as a bolter at inside or even 10...but i highly doubt it.

Well I was using Gerrard as an example, but I still think he's got a chance at the 22. Knuckles is more likely to experiment with his bench, personally I think he'll start someone who's played a few tests this year, so not Mitchell or Staniforth, maybe Sheps but likely (IMO) Gerrard, even if only for the combination of the backline (Rathbone, Gits, Mortlock and Gerrard).

Err, no... That's not the question. It's who's taking his place in the 22. If all 3 of them are named in the 22, who's going to decide which player took Lote's particular spot, you? Mark Gerrard will likely be named in the starting 15, so based on your logic that is the correct answer, right?

Wrong!... Gerrard was in the 22 for the last game, he couldn't possibly be "taking Lote's spot in the 22" and therefore is not correct for the question asked, make sense?

All 4 can theoretically be right under the proper circumstances.

Well make no mistake, you're not only being pedantic, you're clutching at straws... In that last bit you're basically saying that because vBookie is infallible, you can change the meaning of the question.

With Tuqiri suspended, there's an opening at outside back and in the 22 - it looks like Cameron Shepherd, Drew Mitchell and Scott Staniforth are the main contenders to get on the team - who do *you* think will get it?


The bit in bold is the key bit, which player will be ADDED TO THE 22 in light of Tuqiri's suspension, no where -at any point- is a question asked "Who will pay in Tuqiri's position?", the question is who gets a position in the 22 due to his absense. There is obviously room for interpretation, but this is exactly my point, more than one of those answers can be correct.

P.S. I don't want a s**tfight... Just explaining the logic behind the original posts (Coach and mine, so I do have a slight understanding in the thought process of this) which led to this vBet and also trying to get to the bottom of what the specific wording SHOULD mean.

There is a grey area that will be crossed when we come to it, but the question is who will take tuqiri's spot on the 22. If Cannon joined the team and mcissac got dropped, that would obviously not be takking tuqiris spot - but there is (due to my bad) room for arguement, so we *could* have multiple winners...
