Jack Hardy & Carlo Tizzano were named in the Force NRC squad, so good that they showed well for the U19s; parachuting in players for the Force WSR hasn't blocked the pathway for the young local talent.

Hardy and Tizzano are both in the Future Force program too so it’s a great endorsement for that program as well.

The Stockmen are no mugs. If anyone hasn't seen the Irish tour documentary it is up on You Tube. It gives you an indication of why Irish Rugby is moving ahead. The head coach Chris Roche who went on the '84 Grand Slam tour took the squad to the Leinster v Munster Pro 12 match at Lansdowne Road where there was a sold out crowd of 50,000. When Roche toured the crowds for interprovincial matches would have been small. Around 3,000 would have gone to Donnybrook to watch Leinster v Munster.

One of the clubs they played against Sligo has an amazing set up particularly for their under age they are now a senior club in the All Ireland League (Ulster Bank League) despite Soccer (they have professional team in the national League of Ireland) and GAA being more popular in the town.

7 man bench with only 2 reserve front-rowers? Is it 2012 still?

It is the same in the Currie Cup.

On the topic of the Currie Cup Namibia RU had to get financial assistance from the IRB which was approved to pay for the travel of three away teams to Namibia as they couldn't afford the journey. The Leopards talked about forfeiting their away trips due to not being able to afford the costs. I knew things were bad but not that bad.

Intriguing name for one of the assistant refs, Viv-Richard Adams. Father was a cricket fan, you think?

A true fan would have called their son Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards Adams.

Western Force clash to headline RugbyWA finals at Lark Hill on Saturday

Rockingham Rugby Union Football Club will host the RugbyWA finals on Saturday, with a headline match between Western Force and Australian Country Stockman Rugby to follow at 6pm.

Stockman Rugby is a rugby-based invitational development program made up of players from across Australia and coached by former Wallabies Nic Henderson and James Holbeck.

One member of the 2018 Stockman Rugby squad holds a particular connection to Lark Hill and Rockingham RUFC, with towering second rower Rory Collins having made his Premier Grade debut in purple and gold.

Collins reflected on his time living and playing in WA and said being back at Lark Hill would bring back “a lot of great memories”.

“When I found out we (Stockman Rugby) were playing The Force at Lark Hill it just seemed like fate that I was going to be picked,” he said.

“I loved Rockingham because they are a lot like my personality, a bit rough around the edges, never stop fighting, work hard, always put friends and family first and known to surprise teams from time to time. I loved that.

“One of my favourite memories of my time at Rocky was somewhat serendipitous, playing at Lark Hill we defeated perennial finalist Nedlands in a thriller by a solitary point on my 21st birthday. Being part of that match and knowing what it means for a club like Rockingham to topple the big boys remains a proud moment in my rugby career.”

Since leaving Rockingham for the east coast Collins has played with Northern Suburbs, GPS in Brisbane and has played for the Australian Defence Force Rugby Team against New Zealand Defence Force and French Defence Force.

Saturday’s rugby action starts from 11am with the RugbyWA Finals kicking off the festivities.

I just read Geoff Parkes' latest article about Twiggy. There is so much sticking up for the RA and horse manure in it I don't know where to start.
