Rugby Australia invest 5 million into grassroots

    According to fox sports

    https://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/wallabies/report-wallabies-and-waratahs-captain-michael-hooper-offered-five-year-mega-deal/news-story/b36df9c6af413aecf290c2990f8018f8?utm_source=rugby_ spq

Michael Hooper has been offered a 5 year, 1 million dollar a season contract by RA.

I think that's pretty impressive given that he's not the best player in his position and his captaincy record at both provincial and international level.

I can only assume that the threatened insolvency has been fixed and they are now swimming in so much money that they can afford to throw 5 mill at a shadow.

Ps sorry about the click bait title

Aren't the Tahds "grassroots" as far as Sydney-based business people are concerned?

With their crowds and performances, I should think so.

Have to agree with all of the sentiment, not a David Pocock or George Smith. Poor attitude, failed the best recent coach we had in Ewen McKenzie and has the worst record of any Wallaby Captain.
Pay them only when they win. Pay them bus fare only when they loose. A very privileged lot we have these days. Business Class travel, top hotels.........
May the 4th be with us all.

Hooper's post match interview last week pretty much demonstrated why he has such poor standing with many people. Said he thought they dominated the first half (down 7- blot, I think). But didn't take their chances in the second (very original). Just had their arses handed to them at home 29-0. Full of piss poor cliched excuses but, no ownership of the performance. FFS.

Was it as bad as when he said the most experienced team in Australia lost because they were "immature" To me that suggested that maturity can't be expected at the end of a long career
