the real figures are 55k and 60k as the police need to know exactly how many bums on seats (pun intended)
i don't know if the NSW police publish the figures.
uk figures are obtained from police data through the freedom of information act.
Australian figures are similar to the way Irish figures were calculated counting season ticket holders even if they didn't attend than you have debenture holders who have 10 year tickets.

I thought AAMI looked fuller than usual last night for the Rebels v Sharks. Then you heard who they were cheering for; who knew Melbourne had that many South Africans?

The 2 AFL games in Melbourne attracted a combeined 130 000 spectators and there's still another couple of games in Melbourne still to come. Compare that to the 8500 the Rebels get to a game. Still no major sponsor, hundreds of tickets given away, VRU has no cash, good luck throwing good money after bad at this fantastical idea you are going take over the AFL heartland Rugby Australia you flogs. Add in the 7000 the Brumbies are getting to games and there goes more money down the drain propping up another failing franchise. Crowds in South Africa are worse, be lucky if a match has drawn 5000 in South Africa. Such visionaries are our Rats Arse and SANZAARS.

Like me, I'm sure a lot of people heard all the fantastic deals available when they rang to turn their Foxtel off.

News Limited reports that last night's crowd at AAMI Park was 8,393.
It was a dry, balmy Friday evening in Melbourne - for crying out loud, this is getting ridiculous!

And it appeared that a significant percentage were Shorks supporters.

Not me, the conversation went I want to cancel my foxtel immediately they said why I said because you're a bunch of morons who refuse to support rugby in WA they said oh and proceeded to arrange a cheque with the refund of the excess funds in my account. A cheque believe it or not

A couple of AFL games, league, concerts. Melbournites prefer to go to anything apart from Rugby
