Yes not a bad piece And he is right. If the Crusaders can do it why can't others.
Chris Dutton said in an article that the Brumbies would rather play the Force after Super Rugby. Beneficial to both parties as it will be closer to the NRC.

Well according to Nick Taylor in The West it is Stokes and C7 that are in discussions with Forrest and his team.

Someone (Alan Jones) mentioned it odd that Board vacancies at Rats nest, including today’s resignation of Liz Broderick have not been filled. Does this mean ( if wishes came true) that the Board aren’t able to bring new ones in cos they know they’re about to get arsekicked out the door? Perhaps ASIC has forewarned them on shit to come?

You would made as a hat to join the board as you are signing up to the fall out. I doubt they could find a CFO either as their books will be more heavily scrutinised.

No COO as far as I know so Castle doesn't have a number two, it seems like Brett Robinson is filling that role.

As for Legal Counsel I don't think that Richard Hawkins has been replaced.

“This seemed to be the most relevant thread to post this comment by Huw Tindall on GAGR. Remember, Twiggy launched his comp as a break AWAY from the East Coast parochialism, and I have to laugh at now they’re slowly realising the writing on the wall of Super Rugby down the toilet. So hey! Let’s hook up with Twiggy & tell him how we want to run it!

“Super Rugby is a catch 22. Nobody likes the tournament but it brings in vital $$. If we had a domestic or trans tasman comp the same amount of $ won't be on offer and we could see even bigger player drain. Maybe by 2020 the Super Rugby TV rights will be worth fuck all anyway so this will be a moot point.

If the Kiwis don't want a Trans Tasman comp then I reckon we throw our lot in with Twiggy Ball as long as there is no joke team from Malaysia or something. Maybe even make it an enhanced NRC with a short Super rugby 'rep' comp at the end of the season where Reds, Tahs, Rebels, Brums and Force have a hit out. If we can't get a trans tasman then we really need a proper domestic comp. We can support a Pacific Islands team and maybe one other non local team but that's it. NRC is just great to watch and I believe people will cotton on as it builds slowly. It'll be tough to start out but we will still have some decent TV dollars from test rugby.”

...joke team from Malaysia.... “ - yeah right mate, I’m sure you’re the big expert.

I noticed that, sort of a "Let's engage with Asia, as long as we define Asia to be Japan, Hong Kong and anybody else who plays rugby at a noticeable level on the world stage"

Oh and counting Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as part of Asia......wanker

There is a Rugby market alright in places like Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. Just don't play the matches at the big stadiums to start with to please Governments who want to use those facilities they funded. There are much smaller venues to use to start with. The IRB when it comes to these areas just don't know where to get started and how much money to kick in.

WSR doesn't need to be the same as, or an extension of, Super Rugby. It's an opportunity to involve a new and wider audience, to grow the game by creating a new and more exciting rugby competition with wider appeal.
Hopefully everyone here is seeing past this east coast mentality that WSR needs to be somehow subservient to Super Rugby and a fall back so the ARU can maintain or tweak the status quo (which isn't working). The future both for the development of the game internationally, as well as returning a financial reward, requires a new way of thinking. WSR is a new competition, and hopefully a whole new way of doing things (which I hope will still also involve 7s and women's rugby as well).

If there was any other Australian involvement in the WSR/IPRC, I'd prefer it to be from non-Super Rugby cities like Adelaide. I'd even have time for Newcastle/Hunter, who've been screwed around with lately by rep unions, pertaining to an NRC or Shute Shield franchise in their city.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Brumbies go across.

    Why?

    - Have been under the threat of the boot since day one
    - Like the Force can't get the required scheduling
    - Since 2007 when it was open warfare on player deals and lifestyle opportunities the Brumbies have looked towards Asia due to lack of third party opportunities. Huawei were supposed to have a done deal with the Brumbies and it fell through
    - Like Rugby WA get fark all for community Rugby so it is up to local clubs to recruit players and do the schools work
    - Haven't dismissed Twiggy's plans
