Rugby wa board members such as Alison and Hansie will be at busselton I'm sure supporting local rugby rather than travelling to Melbourne, although I did hear other rugby wa luminaries will fly over.

I heard that too. There was even an article about Rugby wa board members, but I can't find it right now to copy it here...

Georgina Robinson names her top 10 most powerful people in Aus Rugby and de Clyne didn't make the list.

As for Baden Stephenson you're the CEO you should know if Rob Clarke is paid or not. What a mentor to have as well.

This bit here is confirmation of what we already know. The Rebels are going to manipulate their crowd numbers.

    Crowd concerns

There are concerns in Melbourne Friday's crowd for the Rebels and Reds match might not reach 10,000.

A Victorian Rugby Union board member has told a source that if the magic 10,000 mark doesn't eventuate, the number might be tweaked to look better than it is.

"We'd like to think we would be getting a crowd of well in excess of 10,000, pushing up to 12,500 would be terrific," Stephenson said. "If we can get some momentum, crowds will come back."

Couple that with the Waratahs' projection of just 15,000 for their season opener at Allianz Stadium a day later and you start to get the full picture on the legacy of the 2017 horror show.

I thought the 'new' Rebels were moving on from the habits of the past.

Let's get a few facts on the table:

Rebels CEO made the gesture to RugbyWA. Many of us felt it was too soon to "break bread" with the Rebels.
After some time our Chairman thought that maybe being there would be better than not being there. To my knowledge - unless some very recent changes occurred - John is the only member of RugbyWA over there. He has also made the trip at his own personal expense as he has all recent trips to Sydney. I can confirm there is no meeting scheduled, discussion to be had on any aspect with respect to RugbyWA and the Rebels. John is not there on any official capacity, he has taken up the CEO's offer of hospitality, will enjoy the experience and come home. I think you need to credit our Daily Telegraph for some creative journalism. John cannot talk on behalf of Minderoo.

Minderoo own the Force, Minderoo are contracting players, coaches etc.

RugbyWA is responsible for our high performance academy, community clubs and our competition. We will not be selling tickets to the matches, hiring venues for the upcoming Force matches.

Perhaps he doesn’t know because it is RA who is writing Clarke’s pay cheques!! It makes my blood boil that he is still taking money from the game. He should be eating prison porridge in my opinion.

Echo those thanks. There has been much confusion among the fans around who is doing what and who is who in the zoo. Not helped, of course, by journalists who don’t get their facts straight!!

Yes so now whenever you hear Western Force mentioned, it has nothing to do with RugbyWA, Minderoo and Twiggy are the custodians of the Western Force

No wonder they want us to "bid" to go back to Super Rugby, still trying to get some of the $50m they regretfully knocked back!

unconfirmed figures were $80,000 for three months and this has been extended to a further 6 months
my simple maths makes that a $320,000 p a salary - and Stephenson says he doesn't know - that's bullshit in a handbag

Clarke's consulting company has to invoice the Rebels for his 'services.' As for who is financing the Rebels... Well the VRU don't have a lot in the bank.
