For an Australian born she has a very strong Kiwi accent
Her family went back to NZ six months after she was born.

The Wallabies were "actually okay" for a while too after John O'Neill hollowed out and culled the rugby grassroots coaching and development programs.

In a basket case NRL club, Raelene Castle doesn't take all the blame but has to take a chunk of it as CEO. They made some terrible signings. The Bulldogs bought their contender status with big back-ended contracts that hit the stink phase by the time she had to depart. The numbers never added up.

In her own words Castle flunked accounting and switched to a career in "marketing and communications".

Just the ticket for the ARU.

But at least she's not Pulver. Problem is, Clyne is still there. The whole board still needs a clean out.

John O'Neill's austerity and bringing in the Rebels while bringing out the razor gang is the biggest root causes of this fiasco. Australian Rugby didn't benefit from that extra 30 million that he said the Rebels would bring in. Had Pulver not had to deal with the Rebels he would have been a highly successful CEO as he has addressed the pathways and called out the Sydney club's reckless spending.

I'm sure he meant the Rebels would bring $30M into THEIR accounts, not the ARU/RAs accounts. Isn't that what happened?

So when it became pretty obvious that the rebels would not bring in the money, he continued to flood money to them, this surely makes him incompetent and a very poor manager! Not to mention his involvement in organising the survival of the Rebels and the death of the Force, against any common sense!

He resigned in around 2012 taking a 2.7 million golden handshake. The new CEO inherited the Rebels up until 2015 which they could have booted instead of selling it to Rob Clarke's deluded mate, a head coach that was signed up long term, possible insolvency (ended up being nonsense as they poured millions down the Melbourne bottomless pit) and cultural problems within some of the teams. Pretty sure that the 7s team was about to strike back then.

I'm happy to wait and see how she is, you can't expect her sweeping out the house before she even starts the job!! At least she's not one of the usual suspects, so very positive on that front.

My concern is that she is another Rob Clarke who also has a marketing background and things quickly went sour under him. Marketing is pretty useless when you have no money for it.

I think you should look for another Rugby forum. You are being far too reasonable.
