I don't think the Wallabies selection is as big a deal if it doesn't happen yet. May not happen as of now if it gets the go ahead but things will change in 2019 and Cheika likes to get his own way to build a bigger selection pool (he knows he already is shafted in regards to certain positions). Throw in completely new management in the top positions inside the RA.

Say if Zack Holmes wants to come home and play for the Force, he plays the house down; Cheika often gets his own way like he did with the overseas player eligibility to push for him to play in a position he is stuck in.

Players are already willing to give up on playing for the Wallabies by signing overseas as confirmed by the 147 players with Super Rugby experience.

In regards to giving players a bigger opportunity then club Rugby it is rubbish to assume that the Brumbies will tow the same line as Qld. The Brumbies have a second XV that was reintroduced by Jake White with a priority on selecting local players that rarely plays. The main reason why is due to the influence of the Sydney clubs as they don't want to lose players to A level fixtures that they see as a waste of time even though it is in the player's best interests to move up a level. Giving players those games during Super Rugby makes complete sense as they need to be better conditioned in case they are required for Super Rugby.

One huge thing to come out of this is that Robinson is at least accepting reality unlike the other clowns in the RA in regards to the prospect of SA upping sticks or leaving very few teams in Super Rugby if they choose to go ahead for a new tv deal.

Probably is. The Government can put the foot down on the RA particularly if they adopt the recommendations in regards to amending governing body's charters revolving around national footprint.

They must be sick in the teeth of governing bodies constantly reforming and having to review their structures as they can't sort themselves out. I see the ARL is joining the club that the RA and FFA are in by reforming their own commission with a new structure and commissioner (Peter Beattie the ex Qld Premier).

As I've said, I'm fine with the idea of the IPRC just blacklisting anyone who is playing in the Shute Shield (essentially what they are asking for). What makes them think anyone is going to want an amateur player anyway?

Or better still, if they throw their name into the hat, allow an offer to be made but allow it to be subject to getting a release from their club. The phrase gets thrown around a lot where not appropriate, but I suspect a very good case could be made for restraint of trade if they denied a release without some legal standing to back it up.

You would think so if the RA blocked a player's registration from a Sydney club to a club in Perth on the basis of preventing him playing in the IPRC.

Surely a case of restraint of trade would be a good chance of getting up if any player was blocked from signing with the IRPC?

What’s to stop a player from coming to Perth to play in the local comp before moving to the IRPC?

I’ve had a couple of beers tonight and I’m already coming up with ways around any RA rules.

Are you trying to ensure RA doesn't approve this thing?

I am just wondering because I don’t know the ins or outs of this recruitment of players from domestic competition, but are clubs compensated or rewarded when they produce a pro player. For example in the AFL unless things have changed if a player is recruited from a WAFL club the club receives a financial boost eg $10000 for each player. Is that something the Shute Shield wants? Or does this already happen?

I am of course not sure what the financial windfall for each AFL player a WAFL club produces, but they do receive some incentive for doing so.

Rightfully no. It would be a joke if a Shut Shield club is given such money for a player they had barely out of school that is then contracted professionally. That player would have to move clubs if signed by the Brumbies or Reds.

Players are developed by junior clubs and schools not by the Shut Shield clubs. I absolutely don't want to see a system where private schools are given money by scarcely viable Super Rugby clubs.

I would hate to see a system in Rugby where Adam Lallana style transfers become the norm which inflates the transfer fee for a middle of the road player. AFC Bournemouth were given funds out of the transfer as they had him as a 12 year old for two years then he went to Southampton at 14. Absolute joke.

So, what does everyone think of the ex Mungo CEO lady who has been selected to replace Pulver?

Alison should have got the job, in my opinion.

Not a lot as she will be hamstrung by that 2 metre tall piece of monkey crap de Clyne. This will continue until de Clyne is gone.

With this board and especially meddling Chairman, It will be her last job in sports admin. Which says something about her judgement, because although Blind Freddy could see what's been going on the past year she has willingly put her hand and reputation in a nest of vipers. She has screwed the pooch.

However, maybe she knows something we dont. Maybe she is cunning as a outhouse rat.

I suppose de Clyne will still be present at the press conferences. She will also be taking on the role without a COO, CFO and Legal Counsel.
