Would World Rugby take a dim view on the behaviour of the ARU ignoring the BaaBaas, I would hope so. In fact, the case for Twiggy all against those dumbf##s is strengthened even more. Twiggy must be laughing up his sleeve at the ARU traincrash.

They should. The IRB have remained very quiet in regards to the behaviour of the ARU this year.

This is the email I sent to the IRB shared box that I have yet to receive a response from.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am contacting World Rugby to express concerns in regards to the operations of the Australian Rugby Union who are currently under investigation in the Australian Senate and are actively alienating a growing Rugby community by cutting it adrift. The Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs is responsible for the investigation. The Australian Senate who have taken on board responses from the Australian Community particularly Western Australia is running a broad Inquiry in regards to the future of Rugby in Australia and the ARU's financial arguments in relation to the axing of the Western Force don't add up.

I understand that World Rugby has been reluctant to get involved with the running of tier one unions such as the ARU however due to their recent actions to the detriment of the game it has gone beyond that point. To support their argument in regards to axing the Western Force the ARU has said that they are facing insolvency. This has been countered against them by various parties. The ARU has actively looked at cutting the Western Force since last year and the conduct of certain ARU officials (former and current) is also under scrutiny. Four ARU officials have resigned in recent months including the Chief Executive Officer Bill Pulver, the Chief Operations Officer Rob Clarke and the Chief Financial Officer Todd Day. Geoff Stooke was the other official to resign. Mr Stooke was on the ARU board.

You are well aware of the bad publicity that was brought upon the game by the decisions of the SANZAAR executive committee in London this year that voted to cut two South African teams and one Australian team from the Super Rugby competition. The South African Rugby Union to their credit actively sought alternate competitions for their two franchises which they are now participating in. SARU made public commitments stating that they were actively seeking new competitions for their two sides that were cut from Super Rugby as they didn't want to alienate the areas those teams represent. Unlike SARU, the ARU have not sought alternate competitions for the Western Force and have laid off the majority of the staff in Western Australia who are responsible for the running and development of the game in their state. Since the introduction of the Western Force just over ten years ago Rugby has grown rapidly in Western Australia and players that come out of that system have gone on to represent Australia. This has now been taken away from them due to the actions of the governing body that is the custodian of the game in Australia. The Australian Rugby Union has also not taken on board the anger and bad publicity towards the game in Western Australia. By also not providing an alternate competition for the Western Force the ARU has taken away a Rugby dream that children in a large and growing Rugby community aspire too.

Surely when the conduct of a member union of World Rugby is under political investigation, providing bad publicity for the game and based upon their decisions are contracting not growing Rugby in a community it has to become World Rugby's business. I would also like World Rugby to get involved with prospective competitions that will involve the Western Force and other growing Rugby nations within the Asia-Pacific region. We have already seen the benefits of World Rugby supporting the Fijian Drua in Australia's National Rugby Championships.

I look forward to your response.

    Kind Regards

Twiggy mentioned some surprise international opposition in one of his speeches, wonder if he meant the Baa-Baas would play the Force?

I see the Rebels are off on a tax payer funded trip to Japan to pay a preseason match against Toyota. In the same press article they are talking up their new proposed tax payer funded centre of excellence. The bellends running in the ARU still don't get why the Senate is making them accountable.

I hate to say it, but they need to build up their confidence with some wins - no point in trying to play domestic or NZ teams, so would suggest this trip is designed to see what they can do and possibly come home with a win.

I see Reg over on G & G has suggested that Brett Robinson will be the next ARU CEO. Makes sense as he is already on the IRB Council instead of Pulver (Steve Tew is on it and I am pretty sure that Jurie Roux has input there).

Why he is ruining his reputation by on this corrupt board I do not know. He is a qualified doctor who did the bulk of his studies while playing as an amateur, why not use your qualifications Brett rather than associate yourself with these mongrels.

    Great work Bakkies.
If ARU drag their feet on Weds over IPRC (Twiggy's deadline 2/11/2017 for ARU dates approval), I will also write letters to Bill Beaumont (Chairman) and Agustin Pichot (VC) about the ARU shortsighted self interest stalling a wonderful opportunity for rugby in Asian countries. (60% of word pop etc) and copy it to all those countries rugby boards on Twiggy's list. So a hot reception awaits Clyne at WorldRugby meeting in Japan on 14/11/2017.

According to Alan Jones, the ARU were paid $1.6 million for the BaaBaas game. If so, it makes their arrogance and disrespect even more disgraceful and disgusting. They are dragging the whole of Australia down in the eyes of some seriously reputable overseas rugby organisations, and that makes me even madder about how the ARU is acting. The juggernaut (or should I say ‘gravy train’) is absolutely out of control

I doubt it. As he has just been retrenched by the ARU this year they would have to hire back through an agency or limited company
