The game shrinks in Australia's heartlands, but it looks like Melbourne may be on the chopping block now also? OK, so that's the other expansion market down the toilet now too then. Or is it the Brumbies? So that's the organisation who's been most efficient at spotting and developing talent that the two bigger States couldn't. Yeah, it's all looking great. Never mind 2 million in WA or 5 million in Victoria, let's look forward to those bumper crowds in those huge bustling world cities like Hamilton, Christchurch and Dunedin. What was that massive semi-final home crowd for the Crusaders again?

Fan-fucking-tastic Super Rugby, it's the game of the future!

It's the NFL of the Southern Hemisphere! And it's played in country towns!

Melbourne should be on the chopping for being corrupt, shíte and poorly run. Rugby has a history of being played in small cities and towns. It's not about marketing nonsense. The ARU are too dumb to realise.

Rob Clarke is supposed to be some marketing guru but everything he has touched has turned to dust.

According to Eddie Jones it was his decision while he was Brumbies CEO to change the Brumbies name from ACT Brumbies to Brumbies Rugby for marketing purposes as a global brand. This upset a lot of people in Canberra.

While I understand what you're saying, especially with regards to most of the rugby world, I'll have to respectfully disagree with that regarding Australia. In Australia, rugby is ostensibly a game played in metro Sydney and Brisbane, our clubs are suburban outfits. Provincialism was the money-making potential of rugby in this country, unless we were to successfully launch a national club league with teams that became sensations in a short term period.

I agree, but at the same time, with Perth gone and maybe Melbourne next, where's the "growth of the game" coming from in Australian rugby? It's certainly not coming from the shrinking heartlands.

Growth of the game under the current inept ruling body.....the growth of the game will come from outside this dying organisation.

I believe that too. Hopefully someone can come along and revolutionize the set-up over here. Let's hope twiggy is the start of a greater movement of outside forces.

It can't be that fu***ng secret that we can't be kept up to date a little more. Anything would help heal the hurt that were all feeling right now...

Well the first few announcements people were going 'is that it' when it was all very hypothetical and up in the air. What's the point of having another announcement without concrete evidence in place?

Don't give the ARU time to scuttle it in the planning stage, keep it under wraps until everything is more or less done then blow everyone out of the water.

Starting to think that the WA Government and Twiggy are keeping quiet while the Senate Inquiry is going on. On the WA Government from going what Sen. Reynolds said last month they will be playing their card this Wednesday. In regards to Twiggy well we don't know if he will be called up.

I don't know there's a whole lot Twiggy could add to the discussion other than answering the question of when did he pledge financial support. That's pretty much already in the public domain anyway.

I think the problem Twiggy faced is not being covered by any confidentiality agreement and therefore the "transparent" ARU sought to keep him in the dark about anything and everything.
