I assume our Sea is Blue reps who are fighting behind the scenes for club rugby really enjoyed the Cockburn 10’s today.

Did the sea of blue create a tidal wave with their support of club rugby?

Or did they not know where to go?

Well organised day by Southern Lions ,just a shame it wasn't supported by more clubs, seems to be the usual suspects that always enters these types of events and the same clubs that don't ever seem to bother to make an effort for whatever reason.
It sends a big FU to the volunteers who donate countless hours to host these things.

Darkness what happened to your beloved Neddies, they got rolled by the banjo playing three fingered inbreds from the Far North in the final.

    3 points.

    1. What the f are you doing awake and on twf at 4.30am? and

    2. I think you need to start spilling the beans on joondalups massive recruitment spree. I flagged it and you've been in denial. Now you know the truth.

    3. From the Far North of NZ are you suggesting? That's my info.Feel free to call people from Auckland and Northland inbreds, you'd have a better handle on this than me.

I'm away at present; I'm sure Alison and Hansie can give you a commentary on the final.

Prediction; you'll see more of their expensive new team in evidence at busselton if you go down next week. And they'll win again.

    Who was missing yesterday?

By my reckoning Wanneroo, Cott, Associates? Why did none of the “new” premier grade sides like ARKS or Curtin send a side? Collie managed to send a side!

I imagine the selection of the Super W team impacted on the women’s competition? I know it was the reason Pally we’re unable to send a team and I think the same for next week at Busselton.

The organisers did a good job even if their schedule could use a bit a if a tweak in future.

Looks like the Joondalup are building nicely for the season.

Minus the usual 'spring/summer specialist' teams this year - I presume something to do with the switch from sevens to tens.

If its half a dozen of you buggers running around trying to big note yourselves and pretending you somehow are a player in wa rugby circles then I think my point stands.
Darkness, I don't know who you are, but by all accounts you seem to believe that only those involved playing, volunteering or have played or been part of club rugby are the only ones to have the right to engage and grow the game.

Mate... it's called Rugby UNION, something the chair and previous CEO of RA and it now seems your good self fail to understand. We are a UNION of everybody who plays, supports, officiates, watches and enjoys our game in WA - or at least that is what we are trying to achieve.

Your comments regarding the sea of blue are ill informed, lack any substance and confirm you are living in a teeny small world of trying to elicit criticism of Nedlands or other club stalwarts.

Let me tell you the Sea of Blue is made up predominantly of Rugby UNION followers/supporters and people committed to growth and enjoyment of our game across all facets.

I do not remember if you passionately organised rallies to keep the Force in Perth - or are you part of the group who hold meetings in telephone booths bemoaning the existence of the Force in the first place?

I do not remember you passionately spending your own hard earned cash and time to forensically examine the accounts and structures used by said chair and ceo to undermine our existence.

I do not remember if you actively lobbied State and Federal members of parliament to investigate.

The SOB is one major component that kept us focused on fighting to keep rugby here, the SOB raised funds, printing stickers and buying Own the Force Shares, the SOB have sent countless e-mails and letters to RA, journos and posted on Eastern States web sites passionately seeking to keep the Force here as the pathway for our kids.

So, Mr. Darkness, make yourself known to me in public at the next Neddies match or function and learn about the efforts of Alison and OUR Sea of Blue.

By the way, let me go further and ask you the same questions you have asked the Sea of Blue:

Mr Darkness - who are you anyway?, who do you represent? what role do you play in RugbyWA circles, what is your claim to be the "defender of Community rugby?"

More than happy for you or anyone to constructively criticize from a point of knowledge and information.

It would appear that's what Alison is doing!

Hansie, no-one is criticising, bemoaning or any other term you wish to use the efforts of your good self, Alison or anyone else involved in exposing the rorts of the aru. 10/10 from me and I'm sure all wa rugby supporters.

Alison has done a totally amazing job in this regard. Neddies has got a keeper there.

You missed the point of my question which is "who the hell are the so-called "sea of blue"? Why are they getting some much air time and cred re the restructure of rugby in wa? Is it a group of half a dozen well meaning Force supporters or are there thousands of them able to be mobilised when the signal is given?

That's my line of inquiry. People seem to be getting very defensive about a simple few questions which makes me suspicious.

People seem to be conveniently forgetting the origins of the term "sea of blue". It was penned long before this group attached themselves to it and now claim some sort of ownership over it.

Love to see your passion; that's the magic ingredient.

PS not sure where I could find a telephone booth nowadays even if I did want to get in one to conspire against the world. It would appear based on current evidence that the entire sea of blue could fit in one though.

PPS off to my afternoon shift now so off the air for 12 hrs. Feel free to have a good crack at me.

Happy to answer those constructively created questions, rather than your previous ones which I interpreted as counter productive.

The Sea of Blue number in the thousands, including the one that wore led lighting, the ex pats, mum's and grandmums, the dad and grand dads that came to Force games and proudly wore their 5, and 10 year membership medals, Alison and a handful of others represent them.

We cannot engage with every one of them and over the past 12 plus months have engaged with a representative pool, I'd prefer not to list names without their approval, but they know who they are. Some are even overseas or interstate based, but as best as we can, we engage with a select few who represent the thousands.

These are the same people as well as numerous others in our community who sent encouraging e-mails, letters and messages to myself, Sinders, Hodgo and others fighting the good fight.

So important is the passionate support that it led Andrew to support us. Without the likes of Alison and others, I can assure you, the likelihood of Minderoo, IPRC, FF and our current optimistic future would not be here.

We have had offers of actual man hours and skills Free of Charge from the SOB. For example, our media dept is being helped with Social media by an expert within the sea of blue, our access to Fed pollies by another, offers to audit each community club's account FOC by a third, printing and graphic art work by more, fundraising and filing in grant applications on behalf of community clubs by another, driving membership into community clubs by a group and so on....

This Mr. Darkness is the Sea of Blue and the sooner our Community Clubs reach out to them the sooner each club will grow stronger, vibrant and profitable.

What exactly does actual man hours mean Hansie. What Darkness is probably pissed about is that there are literally hundreds of volunteers in Perth that have been offering up their free time for years and in some cases decades performing menial tasks that keep rugby alive in Perth that are thankless and come at a very large personal cost in lost work income and receive no kudo's or special mention at all and nor do they expect it and front up the next season and do it all again.

Why have a few people been singled out for special mention when referee's, coaches, managers, committee members, kitchen staff, groundsmen, volunteer bar staff etc etc from all clubs both junior and senior keep on keeping on and continue to do so.

Your last sentence Hansie is a bit hard to understand, why should community clubs try to reach out to the Sea of Blue, they should all know where we are and if they want to get involved then by all means come on down but most club volunteers are too busy performing their core roles to be bothered about whether someone is or isn't prepared to roll the sleeves up and get dirty.

We don't have time to wait for them and listen to the usual bullshit excuses from the usual suspects who whinge about club rugby but haven't actually been to a club game, there's real work to be done.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

1-Getting ready for work, couldn't go yesterday as Southern Lions 10's was on.

2-I couldn't give one about Joondalup or any other club apart from Wests hence the Westie Man thing, Joondie Man just doesn't sound right anyway.

    3-Was thinking more Butler/Currumbine/Two Rocks

Prediction; Joondalup will not win the Busselton Tens next weekend and I will give the juicy odds of 2-1 on that they will not even make the final, any and all bets will be honoured, refunds and deductions will apply.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE PAST NUMEROUS DECADES???

Every Club that I know of, give kudos to their respective volunteers. You for one mate get pats on the back for what you do for Wests Scarborough Premier grade. RugbyWA acknowledge club volunteers every single year, I for one have made special mention in every single President's report I write for every AGM that without club volunteers we would be stuffed. There are recognitions given at the P.G. Hampshire breakfast, competitions for clubs to nominate their most committed volunteer. What rock have you been living under.

So... the very first time we get global coverage for every club from a fan base that has been under utilised and you whinge and would prefer we tell them to go and find a club.

    1. Social media expertise is for ALL Clubs - not just Wests Scarborough - notice the twitter feeds and facebook posts of late for the pre-season tournaments - Oh I guess you'll say they mean bugger to all you as you don't read them - It's not about you mate - it's about numerous clubbies, fans and volunteers who do actually read social media.

    2. Audit clubs finances for free. FYI - One club pays $3K per year to get accounts audited and many clubs get theirs done for free but this one SOB fan has offered to do all clubs Free of Charge - you can work the man hours there - dipstick.

    3. Graphic artwork provided free of charge for ALL Clubs

    4. Networking with Federal Pollies, provided for the good of all clubs.

What have you got against the Sea of Blue??? Just like you reckon they may be blow ins because you've been doing all this hard club work and they don't understand - You my friend have no idea what time, effort and work they have been doing to maintain a pathway for your premiergrade players.

Happy for you to tell your aspiring clubbies, " sorry mate I don't care about a pathway for your dreams in WA mate.. you'll just have to go east"!!!

Westie this year there will be 14 Div 1 clubs, not 10 and not just 1.

I have no problem with Wests Scarborough refusing to reach out to the Sea of Blue - I'll let your president know that as far as you're concerned you have sufficient volunteer help.

mate - there are numerous ex pat, Irish, poms, even kiwis and jaapies within the Sea of Blue that have not belonged to a club - I am very happy to advise them to avoid Wests Scarborough.
