    A streaming pile? Diarrhoea? ARU?

    Surely not

I am SOOO glad Dave has signed to Munster. Cunningly outfoxed their dastardly plan....a professor of cunning at Oxford University

I think this stems from the Rebels sending him a contract to sign before the Appeal was heard. He was asked to sign it and send it back. It did not have a $$ dollar amount attached to it. They thought he had no other options and that they could get 'Blood' Wessels for next to nothing. Munster….thats huge for any up and coming young coach. Remember where you got your start and 'who loves you baby'!!

If the deal gets done, Congratulations Dave. Well deserved after having the rug pulled out from underneath all the hard work you and your team had done this year.
I hope you can find room for as many assistant coaches and players from your developing team as possible.
Better to go to a place where the work will be appreciated, unlike the snakes at the ARU.
And I would steer well clear of that mongrel Rob Clark who is now thinking he was going to reap the rewards of his dismantling of the Force in his recruitment position at the Rebels.

Not surprised really. Where is the money to finance it?

And Tom Decent (!) has only ever pushed the Rebels barrow. Sounds more desperate than hopeful imo.

I hope Wessels has signed with Munster and he is just stringing the Rebels along.

Everyone can see through the ARU hatchet job on the Force, even the players and coaches and we can all see Rob Clarkes grubby hands all over it, so im not really surprised Wessels and the players are looking elsewhere. As we have seen this year, Australian Rugbys governance is a joke. Backdoor handshakes, protectionism and self interest rule the landscape leading to disputes between member unions and law suits over who is allowed to participate and sit at the big boys table. Oh, and they are dishonest liars, a trait that most people hate.
What is going to be achieved by transporting most of the Forces players and coach into Melbourne? Answer: very little. The Rebels are broke, they have been since day dot. They have the worst playing list in Super Rugby so it will take time to turn around. They have bugger all supporters. They have zero financial upside and are invisible in their own state. They also have 10 000 less registered grassroots players then WA so the work to develop players out of the local comp is way behind what the Force had. No academy setup, they can't afford to.
The flow on effect from all of these factors is that someone will be losing a lot of money trying to establish a niche club in an unresponsive market, the ARU. Once again the ARU is hogtied into going broke propping up an unsustainable franchise. There is also less negotiating power for the ARU from this for future broadcast revenue meaning the next broadcast deal might deClyne. There is also the little fact the Victorian government offer to prop up the Rebels until 2027 might also collapse as the Rebels may not exist in 24 months time rendering the agreement pointless and seeing the Victorian government withdraw its offer, something that could happen anyway as Victoria is due an election early next year i believe.
So, yeah. Why go to Melbourne to deal with more uncertainty? Why go to Melbourne when they will most likely fold by this time next year? Why go to Melbourne when their future is going to hinge on the coming recommendations of the Senate inquiry? Why go to Melbourne when they have been the driver of 60 of your friends and fellow workmates losing their jobs and are employing the architects of the destruction of your beloved workplace? Why put themselves through all of this uncertainty all over again?

I think he (or his wife) may have family in Ireland, have not heard of any family in Melbourne though.

Do the right thing by all of us Dave and take up the job at Munster, so we can watch the ARU train wreck continue to pile up with minimal impact on the future of the

See you in a few years

While I am happy to stir the FUARU pot I should point out that the rumour regarding Wessels 1st came out in the UK around May of this year. Him and Andy Farrell were both being touted as targets for Munster.
