It also went though arbitration to get Melbourne in against the Spears at the time from memory.

John O'Neill suggested that the Force would move to a SA conference to get the Rebels in. They really have no shame whatsoever

That guy has a negative shame value after taking $2.2million with him when he resigned in Oct 2012. And they had the temerity to screw us for being too much of a financial burden!

Why was he allowed a 2.2mill payout. What is the justification for that? To put it into perspective that figure is half of the Force annual grant. It could also pay for the elite squad members they insist on bringing home despite public opinion.

The whole organisation seems bent to the core!

It was made up of salary of $1.3million and "incentive payments" of a further $896K. No wonder the ARU's net deficit that year was $8.3million if that was an example of how they spent their money!

To his credit, Pulver did agree to a reduced salary of "only" $700K pa when he took over from O'Neill.

I mentioned the payout in my email to Senator Reynolds as one of the reasons why John O'Neill needs to be hauled in front of the Senate Inquiry

Really need to hear something more about this. It appears the ARU "working group" is working hard on getting no press releases out at all

This is what I fear, the ARU killed off Own the Force pretty effectively.

I am hoping that the lack of information is intentional by Twiggy's side and not some ARU requirement. Also I hope if the ARU are dragging their feet Twiggy will have the balls to tell them to bugger off so we can pivot back to taking them down.

That type of money is completly ridiculous considering where rugby sits in the Australian sporting landscape. How is there any accountability or even incentive to do a good job if your on a cushy 1.3mill + bonuses earning more than any of the Wallaby side (past and present). No one should earn that much money for what is effectly a "niche" sport in Australia, especially when pitted against AFL amd NRL for TV audiences and against Soccer for junior players. Seems totally disproportionate to earn that much considering where Rugby sits in this country (and especially if you arent evenn the countrys star player, or in this case not even a current player). Why did he get those Bonuses? How were the bonuses judged and to who is he accountable to for that Money? The Board? The same board that made Geoff Stooke sit on the sidelines, they dont seem very impartial/ or should I say competant/ fit for the job, considering what we now know from Alisons investigations and the senate inquiry. It really does seem like alot of skeletons are coming out of the closet. The Rugby public has always resented the ARU because they have always ignored their fans and the grassroots game through arogance and now they have unleashed a Tsunami on themselves.

8.3 million in loses is financial incompetance. Why should someone be paid more than half the Force teams super rugby yearly grant when they failed at doing their job? And I would love to know how he or the Board or whoever assesses his bonus came up with the conclusion he deserved over 2mill that year. Something doesnt seem right. This senate inquiry is only really scratching the surface... I wonder how deep and corrupt this so called sports body really is.

Anyone know how much the ARU administrator/ board earned per year on average during the Force and Rebels tenure together? And also how many administrators were there, and what were the top 23 salaries for the top adminstrators vs an average super rugby sides highest earning 23 players?

I am seriously wondering what the hell could be happening here to think these guys should be earning as much as the star players when they effectively have 0 admin experience in sport, and especially Rugby.

Just to compare apples with apples: Gillon McLaughlin reportedly earns $1.7 mill a year. Todd Greenburg $1 million. And they run games that are going gangbusters in the TV dollars dept. So their pay is a tiny, tiny percentage of revenue. Plus they don't cost too much swanning around in the pointy end of aeroplanes, staying in luxury rooms either. What a sad joke.
