The ARU were trying to get the best deal to make sure rugby in Australia nationally was in the best interest for all..I tried not to laugh at him on the phone,, He then went on to say that world rugby could not intervene in the matter as it was a domestic issue and that all us fans should direct all correspondence to the ARU and rugby WA .... As the only people who can sort this problem is them..... I then went on to mention the Senate inquiry and he was not aware of the findings,, I did then mention the recommendations from the Senate inquiry by Senator Linda Reynolds was that the ASIC should investigate the financial dealings between the ARU and MRRU ,, He then asked who were the ACIS ,, I explained and he was a little shocked... I hope he now goes and does some investigating into what i put in my email and sees that maybe there is a problem down under...
Great work Tonkar! Is it possible to email him a copy or link to the Senate Report? I think I shall post a few copies to various World Rugby members-see if that enlightens them some more.

Send them the link to the report and Inquiry website (particularly the finances ASIC supplied which are now being investigated). IRB received complaints from the RA in 2015 (funny about that) about being compensated for lost revenue due to the RWC and threatened to boycott the RWC if they didn't receive it. If that compensation money went to a unit trust, Andrew Cox, consultant, etc it is more the reason for the IRB to get involved.

Good to see IRB is on the ball

I wonder if he knew the national union has driven the state union into bankruptcy?

More like asleep at the wheel. How many emails has he received that he hasn't bothered to read. FIFA are worse than the RA when it comes to shifty deals but they are least willing to sort out national associations that are killing their game.

The IRB want a competition in Asia, are getting it at little cost to them yet they are willing to let the RA sabotage it for the good of the game in Australia. Time to get Julie Bishop involved again methinks.

The IPRC people have been liaising with World Rugby for a while now - are they not feeding this information to them?

They might not be given that they have been pushing for approval from the RA which the IRB require.

Good point - might be the time though if it's putting the competition in jeopardy.

Hi Valzc.. I am in the process of getting Senator Linda Reynolds office to send the email.. I thought if the report came with an official letterhead and from the author of the report it would have more substance than just a fan.. Also World Rugby are not into reading fan emails.. I had to ring and prompt David to search for my email...

Which is a bizarre attitude to have and defeats the purpose of having an open email form on their website.

What a great idea that was to ring the IRB direct. If the senator agrees to have that forwarded officially, or even if not, you have done us a great service.

You said he sounded shocked by your information though, so Andrew mustn't have said anything about it.
