    Indo Pacific league

Twiggy is starting a break away rugby comp. Who would be in the 6 team indopacific league with the Force?

with the countries I've suggested there is a total of 4 hours time difference. In the current Super 18 the total time difference is 16 hours. 4 hours is fine, and actually offers some decent sequencing of games on any given day.

You could go with one Pacific Islands team to reduce travel costs, and add a Western Sydney team. Likely to get World Rugby support funding for China, HK, and Pacific Islands which will be important to reduce Twiggy's outlay.

It is what caused this idea of cutting a team to get off the ground. But most of them will be staggered Clyne & Co knocked back a monster sponsorship for grass roots Rugby. Once they understood the facts of our situation, most Rugby folk over there were on our side. For mine they are welcome.

I'd like to see some exhibition matches thrown in as well, if possible. Perhaps a South African side could join for a finals series, or Edinburgh, or USA, or whoever, but leave a window so that one or two other teams could join for a part of the competition.

I think we should invite a North Korean team.

With all their belligerence, aggression and self belief, they'd be worthy opponents.

And we'd be safe from an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile attack for the weeks they'd be playing here.

I think Singapore would be a big target along with Hong Kong. I can't see mainland China being kept out of the loop. Not sure who else might be in the sights but there are plenty of options- Japan, South Korea, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa.

East Asia = Lack of talented players but lots of money.
Pacific Islands = Plenty of talented players but few financial resources and political instability.

Could they cancel each other out?

Who is paying for the Fijian Dura team in the NRC? How long have Fiji been struggling to get financial help? Am pretty sure players like Isi Naisarani would be delighted in having more of his mates able to come over for the chance to play!

Look at us Happy TWFers, we are a crowd of glass half full people. Yeah this morning stung like a MF, but Twiggy has given us a hand up off the canvas and look at us already looking upwards and onwards to the new comp.

Maybe this is the attitude that has made us the most passionate rugby supporters in Australia. Win, Lose or draw we support our team and our people no matter what.

Yes South Korea was one I had originally thought of. Some background in Rugby and has done ok at the Asia Rugby Championships. Also good time zone!
