Without other states being funded to the tune NSW is, it is a no brainer they will provide most of the future players when you are actively trying to prevent competition from other states. Myopic wank.
Thanks for the heads up that there was a new submission. Just read it myself and thought it was all largely quite sensible actually. It's basically calling for a governance review since there are clearly a lot of grey areas and overlapping of responsibilities at the moment. I think providing funding based on the number of registered players and growth targets / KPI's makes sense. Having the state unions / super rugby franchises more involved with SANZAAR decisions would also be a good idea.

Not sure how relevant the submission was to this enquiry though, which they acknowledge themselves:
At the outset, NSWRU notes that it has no intention of addressing those matters within the Senate Committee’s terms of reference over which is has no purview

The terms of reference does cover any other matters. It is also relevant to going over the 13 reviews and I have no doubt that they will recommend a complete restructure of the ARU or a new body put in place like what occurred with Soccer.

They need to get more firm to push forward their questions as we have to hear Rob Clarke soon

Jesus Christ, we aren't getting anything out of him. Typical lawyer waffling on about details so that the questions have to be limited.

They will have to table the questions. He also didn't start on time.
