To go with their theme song

    "Tomorrow Never Lies"

Tomorrow never lies so live for today
Don't be afraid of the skeletons of yesterday
Each morning brings you closer to your goal so grab your chance don't let it go
The city streets are littered with the casualties
the could'ves and the should'ves and the would've beens
Don't let this chance slip by / Because tomorrow never lies
Tomorrow never lies if you live tomorrow today
There are those who would shoot you down / ah
there's always someone wants to shoot you down
but you know they're never gonna be able to shoot you down
if you live tomorrow today / if you live tomorrow today
The night time blazes with all your nightmares come to life
But you can face the danger knowing that your cause is right
and leave them all below you / bleeding as you rise into the night
Because you know tomorrow never lies / no, tomorrow never lies
no, it's never, never gonna lie if you leve tomorrow today
There are those who would shoot you down / ah
there's always someone who wants to shoot you down
but they're never ever gonna be able to shoot you down
if you live tomorrow today / yeah if you leve tomorrow today
Cos you, you gotta live tomorrow today / Live it because tomorrow never lies
tomorrow never lies / oh no.

So he would have us believe that as COO of the ARU and Director of the target company, the Melbourne Rebels, he had no part in the negotiations of the agreement and that Mr Pulver and Mr Todd Day did all of the negotiation with Imperium Group on the terms of the contract.
The Committee should call back Pulver and give him two days to pull the documents. If he wants to save himself he needs to rat out Clarke. That's exactly what Clarke did with no credibility

They have contradicted themselves and sown a field of lies. If anything its nothing but sheer arrogance and contempt for the Senate inquiry. How will the inquiry deal with this?

The star witnesses have probably all had a giggle and a few chardonnay's in Mr North's chambers about the 'Senate Inquiry'?

    Without hurting their feelings, they have been;

    1. Been less than honest
    2. Told mistruths

one can only hope that our Esteemed Senators will be on the ball enough to wade through the crud and come to the same conclusions we all have.... though its not hard to see the smoking gun in this one.. more devious activities have been excused in the past no doubt.

holding thumbs there is a recommendation for an ASIC investigation at least or ideally a fraud/insider trading investigation.

Surely the most damning thing in the Winney submission is that his consortium would recapitalise the rebels to the tune of $6 million, where as the Cox bid has the ARU providing (coincidentally I'm sure.) $6 million?

    That's super smelly, no??

The whole thing is pretty damning. It cost the ARU about 20 million.

Yes. But here in B&W they've been shown to chose a bid that costs them $6 million more and they were even turning the screws on the better bid to the point Winney & Co walked away.

Why? And theres lots of speculation as to why already on the board. But this shows it wasn't just chosing A over B it was giving A 6mil vs B 0mil (forgetting about the debt forgiveness etc for now which appears par on both)

I may be misreading but that's the way it seems.

Again, I am hoping the other voting unions are just waiting for the Senate Inquiries findings to call an EGM to roll the ARU Board to do it now would be counter productive to the eventual findings.

It’s a slow certain death if they don’t.

The new Board should then absolutely starve the MRRU to death based upon the required previous hand outs to survive. The IRB will probably get involved because the ARU action will have brought the game into disrepute.

I think the media will be reluctant to bash the ARU slash the Wallabies after the victory over the AB’s.

I thought "I get by with a little help from my friends" would be the perfect anthem for Pulver, Clarke, North and Gray

After reading these latest submissions, I’m totally floored at the levels these guys managed to reach, and getting away with it for so many years! Government funding, but where was the accountability, where were the checks & balances done by auditors, why did no one (in Govt) ever cast any eye for the justification of the money handed over, where was the ‘due diligence’ by other departments? I read even KPMG signing off on all the financials -WTF! These guys got handed a cash cow & went barrelling in and made the most of it. But like the Alan Bond era, looks like the cat is definitely amongst the pigeons now & their time has run out! Am banking on Linda Reynolds having a field day on this lot!
