There is always the possibility of a high Court Appeal I suppose ... but it would probably be more effective to cut ties with the ARU, get some real money ($50m) from Twiggy, up the loyal players wages by $50,000 pa , buy some more quality, and head off with the team to a European competition, having done all the due dilligence etc on our terms.

Tell you what, I'd have more success in selling a rugby tour to Europe to my wife, than a poxy weekend in Melbourne.

If the Judge thinks the lack of convincing evidence by the arbitrator in their decision and the 'vague' definitions of terms in the agreement should surely be in the Force's favour? am getting ZERO work done!!

That then lead the discussion about the "at least" term used in the "renegotiated" agreement - being "at least 15 teams" not stipulating it couldn't be more than 15, just that it had to be 15 at the least. This was also then re-discussed with the ARU wigs.

Sorry that was how the judge interpreted the meaning of "at least" in the agreement...sounded like he was reading it as it could be more than 15

In fact SANZAAR is a joint venture with ARU, SARU, NZRU and PUMAS having the right to veto. SARU always have had pressure to head North and with Cheeky Watson bankrupting the Kings, SARU were happy to drop 2. We were told ARU said they would only drop one on condition they got the same TV broadcast money. Hence it all being about $$$$ for the ARU.
