The force didn't have a vote dud they as the ARU owned them? Didn't RugbyWA vote for 5?
Wouldn't it be sweet to host several Sunwolves games at NIB ... just add a few blue hoops between the red ones and we got a team in Perth. Expanding the Asian rugby theme continued, top flight rugby in Perth and a crowd decked in blue.
Given it's all based in contractual clauses ... get to 2020 and see what happens next?
Japan will have had it's RWC and SANZAAR + ARU will have changed immeasurably.
Especially if Raelene Castle gets the gig !
Don't forget the Sunwolves also have to play some games in Singapore.

Can't see how that would work...there just aren't enough games to go around. Only way I could see it happening would be the Australian teams playing their home games against the Sunwolves in Perth, in which case they can go f@ck themselves as there is no way I'm sending another cent East.
I'd rather see an intact Western Force playing in Japan rather than a hybrid team playing in Super Rugby.
This is all pie in the sky stuff though.
Sorry all, I have no interest in a merged team. I DO have interest in relocating to the Top League, no problem with that, but not a merger.
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
A combination of orange, from the SunWolves, and black from the Force, could call the team the Scorchers!

Let's have one of these in WA! Click this link: Saitama Super Arena - New Perth Stadium?
Hmm..My goal is purely to beat the hell out of the ARU board until they are forced into submission and have no other option but to admit their conduct was unconscionable and resign. The Force, meanwhile, have a single-minded goal just to stay alive by any means until the SANZAAR broadcast deal expires in 2020, at which point they hope a fifth Australian team again will be required, especially if Super Rugby morphs into a trans-Tasman competition.
I'll need to see what develops before forming an opinion on any of this. But I can see quite a few hurdles in front of any merge. Plenty of obstacles in a Top League entry too.
1. If a merged team in Super Rugby operates, would they still have to comply with ARU contracting for players to keep Wallaby qualification?
2.Rugby WA has had difficulty getting players to Perth let alone relocating to Tokyo. The salary would need to be attractive.
3.Player accommodation in Japan.
4 Even more horrendous travel schedules.
If NF-J/Rugby WA could convince whoever to relocate the Singapore matches to Perth and get at least a couple of Eastern franchise matches at NIB, although far from ideal it's preferable to oblivion. The biggest benefit could be keeping the best local products and any others keen to stay with us together and more importantly out of the clutches of those treacherous bastards in Sydney and Melbourne.
I think there's every chance Super Rugby will be on its knees in 2020. If so, I expect ZA will be ready to bail. We need to at least survive long enough to stay in whatever comes of that.
Of course a legal victory is still on the cards anyway.

I might be a curmudgeon but the way I see our priorities at the moment
1 Win the appeal, play in Super Rugby as the Force in our own right
2 fight with whatever we can muster until the outcome is the same as 1
3 Fight for the removal of the current board and their replacement with people who don't have shit for brains, then ask to be readmitted (before February)
4 Bankrupt the ARU with claim, counter claim, damages suits, injunctions, get the state government and the federal government involved destroy the ARU utterly until the outcome is the same as 3
5 Campaign to enter the Top League as an expansion team, negotiate with JRU and World Rugby for it to count as domestic matches for a Japanese team, encourage all WA based players to play their international rugby for Nippon
6 See if the Pro 14, French top division, anybody else in the world will take us in our own right
7 Let those slimy bastards off the hook by solving this shitpile of their own making for them and merge with the sunwolves.
At least that's the way I see it
C'mon the
4a/ Secede from Australian Rugby and apply to World Rugby to be admitted as a rugby nation in our own right.
cheers auss...
