Last Wednesday, I went to a Currie Cup match between Die Blou Bulle and the Sharks at Loftus (the Sharks won).
It was a public holiday in SA and one of those beautiful cloudless highveld days.

There were maybe 4,000 people at the match, probably less.
I have never seen Loftus so empty for a Bulls match.

This is the heart of Afrikaner rugbydom.

"What's going on?" I asked my SA mates.
The Bulls aren't doing well, so support has dropped they said.
