    Australian cricket’s players’ association boycott

    https://thewest.com.au/sport/cricket...-ng-b88528778z

Good to see one player's association taking a stand. But since our saga doesn't affect the entire union, I don't think RUPA will take such a drastic measure. I would enjoy seeing both the Force and rebels come out of the locker room ready to go and then just sit down on the pitch when the whistle is blown.

The current CBA agreed to by the RUPA prevents any industrial action being taken by the players.
So legally they can't strike/slowdown/boycott media/do anything but what is in the agreement even if they wanted to.

From personal experience those things are generally pretty ironclad and have some amazingly substantial penalties for 'illegal' industrial action in the thousands of dollars per day. (Even if it's exactly what is warranted based on the situation).

And the Cricketers don't have an agreement at the moment so they can boycott tours until they are blue in the face.

That's exactly right. CA currently doesn't have any professional cricketers on the books. They're all unemployed & locked out

Cricket Australia said they won't be locked out and are welcome to continue to train.

I am curious as to how Cricket Australia could force a lock out anyway given most of the state associations own/run their grounds.

I think our players are training at the WACA; I've seen a few around the place, and heard nets sessions when I walked past a couple of days ago.
