Our 4 are better players overall though! And about 2 or 3 could/should have been selected for the June tests

That was a pathetic crowd considering the importance of the game.

To the 2 Rebels supporters in the East block, you are supposed to be ambassadors for your team. If you can't handle your piss, then you deserved to be kicked out!

The team played strongly and at speed. Very dominant and created enough opportunities to put 50+ points on them. It was the usual execution errors and ball security in contact that avoided a major thrashing. Had Koirebete been on the end of a Kiwi back line he'd have scored a half dozen off those turn oversers.

    Normal Ruck Involvement stuff.

Good to see the Front Row step up.

    1. Naisarani unusually subdued ruck involvements. (He's averaged 25T - 21A/4D).
    2. Cowan and TPN very busy around the park.
    3. Back Row had 44% of D Ruck Involvements.
    4. Meakes very busy - esp at D rucks.
    5. Very subdued rucking effort in 1st 20 minutes. (esp during Peni's YC)
    6. Big effort to get Meake's try while Peni in bin.
    7. Increased Ruck Involvements resulted in tries at 36, 49 & 52 mins.
    8. Strong efforts from Stander, Faulkner & van Wyk off bench.

We will always do better with Front Row making their presence felt with 30% of TRIs.
Best efforts by Backs: Meakes, Grant as shown; Newsome - 13T - 11A/2D; Rona - 12T-11A/1D.

Def Ruck Involvements mostly by those with speed to arrive early.
RHP has had a very consistent season - whether playing Lock or No 6.

    CARRIES
    DHP - 10 for 77m; Naisarani - 11/73; Meakes - 10/50; Ruru - 5/48; Ainsley - 7/43.

    TACKLES

    Coleman - 14 made/2 missed; Cowan - 11/0; RHP - 11/2; Hardwick - 11/1; Meakes - 10/1.

Rebels outgunned Force early but Force stepped up in 2nd half.
Force won 94% (89 of 94) of own rucks.
    Rebels 96% (95 of 98)
Neither team earned a clean Turn Over Won.

Force stood off 54% of Def Rucks.

The changing shape of rugby - 91% of D Rucks with 1 or less players placing opposition ball under pressure at rucks.

    PENALTIES
    Force 12:6 Rebels
Was the Force really that bad?

    TURNOVERS CONCEDED
    Force 17: 21 Rebels

    HANDLING ERRORS
    Force 19:34 Rebels
    Significant improvement by the Force.
This stat was costly for the Rebels.

    All other stats fairly even.

I don't know much about ruck strategy in games etc andrew, but when I see how ferocious the BILs/ABs fight for the ball, and last night when the Force seemed to really step up the pressure, it worked really well for them. Is standing off rucks something they should or should not be doing can you tell me?

I know you are being rhetorical Andrew, however I shall answer.
No the Force were not that bad.
That was the worst effort by the officials including both ass instants AND the TMO I can recall including the Hoff. At least with the Hoff we know what to expect. This guy was clueless and completely lost the plot at about 65 to 70min mark. Even the final whistle was a fiasco. As to the two Korobiete "tries" yes he has got gas but benefitted considerably by two blatant forward passes one being a handover when he was in actuallybrunning in front of passer (was it Mafi?). He couldn't even award Colemans simple try without checking the TMO. And TFNs disallowed try...first the rebel took it back over the tryline, then the second rebel knocked it on into a surprised TFNs lap who grounded it. How does either motion lead to a Force knock on over the tryline?
Sir was clearly trying to bring the Rebels back into the game at about 65min mark. problem for rebels was they really were a rabble and couldn't capitalise on the assist. Plenty of heart but no nouse.

I think they have to pick and choose, they have excellent defence which requires numbers

Anyone else notice the increased security at the gates. At gate 1 they had someone body scanning people. There was only one so he couldn't do everyone.I was asked about my flag, I said it was a Force flag. The woman said she had to look at it in case it had inappropriate messages on it.I said I thought what the ARU was doing to Rugby was innappropriate. I was fuming, I'm not sure if all this is coming from Venues West or the ARU but it is pathetic!

Most likely an over reaction by those in charge who think that the Force/Rebels fans will sink to their own gutter level of having a complete lack of integrity. When you live in a sewer you spend your whole time believing everyone else is a rat as well. Just shows how much the disgust & animosity for the whole ARU schmozzle has become so public.
