Mr Forrest, We know a Good Cause.

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-05-2...nation/8546206

Mining magnate Andrew "Twiggy" Forrest and his wife Nicola are donating $400 million to be used for a number of causes, including cancer research and the eradication of slavery.

The donation was described by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull as the "the biggest single philanthropic gift" in Australian history, and the largest donation by a living Australian.

Would you like some http://owntheforce.com.au shares Mr Forrest?

The Twiggies are fantastic with their charities. I'd bet my last buck they have pledged plenty anonymously to Own the Force, as well FMG being a sponsor. But a pro Rugby franchise is not a charity and they doubtless have more pressing work to attend to.

You really can't compare Twiggy against the other iron ore millionaires can you - he has given extremely generously, the others (Hancocks, Wrights) are always in court fighting over the last million dollars.

If Cox can claim $10-12m in damages from the ARU after all he has been given I reckon we could swing being a charity for a bit.

I consider the Force a religion so I want tax free status as well!

Indeed, someone like Gina apparently doesn't even share money with her kids when it was specifically left to them.

Look at people like Rockefeller and Carnegie and ask why they are still remembered generations after they died. Forrest may end up similar, if he leaves something enduring behind. The Hancocks, Rineharts and Wrights by comparison will be completely forgotten within five minutes of snuffing it, never to be thought of again and no loss.

The Hancock and Wright Mining Co by comparison will likely leave a very different legacy.

The victims of mesotelioma and their families who worked and lived in Wittenoom might not forget that too easily, I should think.

I've never heard anything but good reports about the character of Twiggy from those who know him well.
The latest news didn't really come as a surprise. It is the character of the man.
If he bought the Force it would become more than just a rugby club.
Unlikely to happen. But it would be nice to have just a bit of that money......please Mr Twiggy.
