Quite likely right in at least one instance - when he was dropped to U-20's after a diabolic performance at NIB earlier this year.

The boys need to back themselves this week, as they did at the start of the year, and go for tries instead of penalties unless its dead in front and 20 out of course. I find we've started being conservative and just taking points, but does that bolster their confidence of scoring 5 pointers? Constantly doing all the hard work to get down there and then relying on the kicker instead of themselves as a team.

Case in point Priors kick from 40+ out last week. Why? It got three points but we had shown some good backs play before that and were making ground, why not back themselves for 5 points. 1 try to 8 looks better than 0-8.

The tyranny of distance will have a fair bit to do with it, but does anyone know if the ref for a forthcoming match attends a training session? I expect not often, as they fly in fairly shortly before. RWA has Coops, who is on the ARU ref panel, so he is not only available, but works in the offices. I don't know for sure, but would be astounded, nay flabbergasted, if he wasn't a regular at training or briefing sessions.
Perhaps a question that can be asked at next week's members meeting.

Yeah, I've found that change in mindset very frustrating since our rolling maul has looked good. Maybe our poor lineout success rate has something to do with it.

Am I right in thinking that's a Wallaby front row on the bench ... ?

I dont think attitude will be a problem this week. Hopefully this shows through in our contact work, gainline success and our guys running hard, decisive support lines. Going to be a battle up front but i think we'll be up for it. I also hope we dont just fall into a default plan of kicking the ball up the field in the hope of winning field position. We are going to have to run the ball at some point to score the tries we need to win. 80 mins of kamikaze at the Reds tryline will get us the win. We have the centres and wingers to do some damage, they just need to see the ball.

It would be nice to see Rona score a couple of pies.
I think he has been good for us but perhaps not as damaging as expected.
He passed off last week (and a bad pass) when I thought he could have run to the line himself.
He is big and strong and would be a potential Wallaby if he could get over the line a bit more often.
With Meakes taking the ball into contact as much as he does I'm surprised Rona hasn't benefited from some more offloads.
Needs to get in the right place to take opportunity more often.

Rona & Cuzzy-Bro-Peni worked fantastic together during the early part of the season, with the season ending injury to Peni he's gone into his shell a bit, on Rona's defence he's a rugby league winger who always needed a bit of room to start then he carved up on the field.

If they take him to Mauritius for the Club10s he will get some more confidence (even thou it is a different game/play) ..

1st year he'll improve with time, just like Hunt has for QLD and other now retired ex League players.

I have no doubt that he will improve, our play has also changed since the early games and perhaps does not suit him.

I know we got the try. But how the f@ck was Huggers not penalised (at the least) twice in the lead up.

    It was unbelievable

But we had a average half and have a 8 point lead so I will take it
