ARU chief operating officer Rob Clarke has resigned.

One down, several to follow (hopefully)

ARU chief operating officer Rob Clarke has resigned.

Clarke was believed to be earmarked as a potential successor to CEO Bill Pulver, after stints with the Brumbies and Rebels as well as the national body spanning more than a decade.

A former advertising CEO, Clarke returned to the ARU in 2014 as general manager of professional rugby, operations and marketing.

His elevation to chief operating officer in 2016 was his second stint in the role.

A widely respected figure among the rugby community, as second-in-charge at a national level, Clarke had been at the forefront of a turbulent time in Australian rugby.

Clarke was forced to respond to criticism from Western Australia in recent weeks over his links to the Rebels and Brumbies, as the ARU comes to a final decision about its Super Rugby composition in 2018.

Wow!! That is big news. Wonder if the Board demanded it given how incompetent they have been made to look in all of this?

Without looking closely...and therefore probably being completely wrong... this guy has been with the Brumbies when they were going down the gurgler and sold the family jewels in a shady deal which the last CEO blew tbe whistle on and took them to court, then the Rebels when they cost the FUARU more than $20m to two private owners. And now the FUARU who are now bankrupt and have to shed a team, numerous employees and 40 professional players to stay "afloat".
Yup, obviously the ideal candidate to take over from Puller.

    Along with this:

"Australia's most comprehensive online healthcare provider directory and patient review site, Whitecoat, has announced the appointment of former head of National Australia Bank, Cameron Clyne, as their inaugural Chairman.

Clyne is one of Australia's most respected business leaders, and has joined Australia's breakthrough digital healthcare start-*up this month. Clyne served as CEO of the National Australia Bank from 2009 until 2014 – guiding the bank through the most difficult years of the global financial crisis."

edit: not sure what to make of this bit though: "Founded by nib health funds, Whitecoat now counts Bupa Australia and HBF Health as partners who together make up approximately 43% of the private health insurance market."

So now Mark Sinderberry doesn't have to "report to Rob Clarke" anymore?

That's Clyne and Clarke gone, how many more will it talke befor Bill "Jellyspine" Pulver goes?

Hands up who thinks he'll be last off the boat, not because the Captain sees everybody else safe before considering himself, but more because he's been busily throwing everybody to the sharks in the hope that he'll save himself.

By my count we still need to get rid of six directors and at least three executive managers. Of course we also need to replace them with somebody worth pissing on!
