Force tour of South Africa and Argentina.

A 27-man Road Safety Western Force touring squad departed for South Africa last night as the team begins a two-week tour for clashes against the Sharks in Durban before a historic maiden game against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.
In a big boost for the Western Australian side, Wallaby lock Adam Coleman joins the touring party along with fellow second rower Richie Arnold.
Loosehead prop Ben Daley has been ruled out of the tour after injuring his knee against the Lions on the weekend.
The Force take on the Sharks at Kings Park Stadium at 9:05PM AWST on Saturday, 6 May.

So the following players aren't touring:

    Jermaine Ainsley
    Ben Daley
    Harry Scoble
    Ben Matwijow
    Matt Phillips
    Angus Cottrell
    Kane Koteka
    Ben McCalman
    Ryan Louwrens
    Michael Ruru
    Robbie Coleman
    Chance Peni
    Luke Morahan
    Dane Haylett-Petty

That's close to an entire team, and I think Scoble is the only one of those 14 who isn't injured (we have 4 hookers and that's the one position we don't have any injuries!)

I was thinking similar things about our injury list, I think the only position where we can say we definitely have our first choice starter is 10 and 13, but both of those boys have been moved around to cover issues with other positions.

As sad as it is to say this, if we come away from this tour with a single competition point (or, heaven forbid, more) then the tour will be a success.
I just don't see it happening.

I'd like to see the boys go into each game with no inhibitions with the ball like they did at the start of the year. Throw the ball around you never know you might score a try or at least look damn good trying to?

Both of these games are winnable. The Sharks have the easiest schedule in the comp. As of the records right now, they will only play 3 games against winning sides (Lions twice, Stormers); no Kiwis on their schedule at all. So far they have lost to the Lions and Reds and drew with the Rebels. In their 6 wins against all the poor teams, the average margin of victory is 8.5 (5,23 Tahs, 2, 8, 5, 8).

I watched the Sharks v Jaguares last night and neither team is intimidating (ie Hurricanes). Even with our injuries, we should be in for a good tour.

Agree both games are winnable if the boys play with the same level of commitment we've seen from them all season. If the Rebels can draw with the Sharks we can beat them.
Jaguars at home will be a challenge but, as you say agrugger, they are not the Hurricanes.

The Lions were/are top of the SA teams and we nearly had that we also could have taken the Chiefs with just a little bit of luck so both Sharks and Jags are possibles. I'm sure the boys will look back at both those games and that will give them confidence going into both matches. (I hope)

We seem to have had a lot more success on the road recently.

By what metric? 2 wins, both at home... I'd suggest were doing better at home than last season but not away. Of course we haven't toured south Africa yet and that has traditionally been our happy hunting ground (but I guess anywhere is in comparison to new Zealand)
