Well at least the lions are without Jaco Kriel and Van Renseberg, who are two of their best players also.

Surely Lance at fullback would be a much better option than Brache?!

Wessels has said he wants Lance as the replacement 10 alongside Scott as the replacement 9 because Scott is young and needs an experienced head around him. Although I'm surprised Newsome or JVA aren't moved to FB, I suppose Wessels wanted a more experienced player there, too, as both our wings are pretty raw. In fact, if you take out Prior and Brache (~40 caps each) the 5 other backs (Burton, Newsome, Meakes, Rona, JVA) have less than 40 caps between them.

I reckon Brache is the best clubman in World rugby.....shame he isn't as good a player.
I would have preferred to see Jono Lance at FB. A bit of a wise head amongst the young 'uns.

If they can play the strategy like they played the Chiefs but with LESS kicking away the ball, they'll be right. It's a good gameplan but needs them to be on their toes the whole game, which they did last week. I wonder sometimes whether the kick-aways are to get a chance to catch breath? Dane went off fairly early against the Chiefs and it barely caused a blip, so they will be right (so long as the lineouts get sorted - cheesh!)
