If I didn't have a horse in the survival stakes (i.e if I lived in NSW or Qld) of the current ARU clusterfuck I probably would have switched off. I've got plenty of other sports that I follow.
Yeah, I just can't get myself to give money to Sage. Hopefully we win this weekend though.

Did I hear correctly that the attendance at AAMI Park for the MC v Glory match was only about 8500?

Still below MC's season average as you'd expect for a non-derby. But poor for what was at stake. Hard to get people in the gates once AFL cranks up.

Which is the whole issue about trying to take on the AFL juggernaut in Melbourne.

True. I think Victory averages abt 15000.
Storm abt same. That's what I was thinking about. Let alone AFL. OK they have double the population but jeez what a market to try and break into.
The Storm have a great niche market goinh. I've even heard Sam Newman say he gets to every game he can - just to watch Billy Slater. Then there's Cronk, Smith and Munster. But without that kind of X Factor how can you grab a share of such a crowded market long term?

    sorry.

Melbourne City barely get onto the radar of the cities sporting attention. They had one big club and brought in another just to try and weaken the Victory, didn't really work too well as they didn't really give the club a soul.

Yup, and it certainly didn't help when what little identity they had was replaced by becoming a Man City subsidiary.
