Cameron Clyne keeps bringing up the $28 million figure that has been pumped into the Australian Super Rugby sides but he never brings up that $20 million of has been directed at the Rebels.

Made a commitment to consult?! You sent two hatchet men over to Perth with your stacked figures to tell Sinderberry and co that we were going to be cut.

    How is that considered consultation?

Talks about five teams creating pathways and then backtracks that four more than sufficient when the example of a player that landed in league could not find a pathway with five.

Also now mentions they were always going to consult before making a decision, did not seem that way when they met our reps on Monday.

His story appears to be a moving target and changing on an hourly basis to cover his and other peoples ineptitude

Wallabies are still healthy...why peddle out your shit graphs showing the wallabies decreasing winning percentages in its recent history as justification to shitcan a team.

Same level of revenue.. with one less team. until 2020. When the rights are negotiated again. Tew has already said they will examine it closely in 2020. No way we'll continue to get the same slice of the pie with a lesser presence.

grassroots blah blah...have not done a single thing about it and now say we have to cut a team so the money can flow there. I assume the terms "grassroots" and "shute shield" are interchangeable according to Clyne.

Hans, General & Co we seem to have some sympathetic ears in The Print and TV Media. They need to ask Clyne to explain the 28 million dollar lie that is being spread.
Also, it would be interesting and helpful if a break down could be done on the 700 million dollars Alan Jones claims has been spent, with regard to how little of that was actually spent on the Western Force. That would also highlight the disproportionate allocations of Wallabies top ups that has occurred over the past 12 seasons.
The spin coming from the ARU is all slanted against us. We need to get the true figures out into the public domain and to media people who are sympathetic. After listening to Andrew Webster on that podcast it's becoming clear a lot of them are unaware of the full facts.

So on Super Rugby kick and chase Clyne stated there were 16 stakeholders to negotiate with now he is saying there is 47 or 48?

Clyne has still not taken responsibility for deliberately putting Australian Rugby into such a precarious position by signing the ARU up to a terrible deal that was forecast repeatedly to be a money pit and would have negative consequences. Clyne has also not taken responsibility for the inconsistent and unfair funding of players through ARU negotiated contracts that lead to franchises being disadvantaged in their recruiting and playing stocks that lead to poor performance outcomes.
If Clyne needs a scapegoat for his appalling ineptitude then he only needs to look into a mirror. Clyne has failed.

Yeah, When he said $28 million was the cost to the ARU of super rugby, I was like "oh yeah? show us how that was spent"..

..and i totally DO NOT get the "one fewer team will make Australia stronger because we can spend the money on grass roots rugby". That's fuzzy shit that is. Most local rugby is pretty much self funding. I went to a WARU meeting back at the end of the 80s where a bloke stood up representing WA junior Rugby stood up and explained that the WARU allocation for them was about $1500 a year. A rubbish amount in what was a 6 figure WARU budget. But on that meagre amount, a few thousand children were playing rugby every week end..

Interestingly, Phill Kearns and Nick McArdel seems to be supportive of The Force staying on Kick n Chase..

Most community rugby is funded through the participation fees individuals pay.

Clubs charge X amount for fees. From there X amount goes to insurance, X amount goes to the club and X amount goes to governing bodies to facilitate the competition costs. Clubs the supplement these fees through sponsors, food and drink sales and other fundraising like raffles etc.

From memory i think the ARUs contribution to WA grassroots development is about $200 000 annually. Much like our GST money, we receive only a fraction back from what is paid to the ARU.

I'm a bit concerned Clyne doesn't seem concerned about the alliance agreement. Either that or his got his poker face on.

ARU has essentially got two organisations trying to outbid each other. Probably the plan all along. $$$

Well the ARU put their moniker on it guaranteeing the agreement. So Clyne obviously knows it's not worth the paper it's written on.

Disagree with us and the rebels trying to outbid each other. ARU are still trying to find a way of getting rid of us as they have planned for quite some time.

I think the only thing that will work for us is if Cox said in his meeting with the ARU that he wants to hand back his licence (for a fee). Because he can see that the rebels will never turn the corner and break even. Wouldn't put it past the ARU to make a further commitment to fund them into future though...

Otherwise the courts will have to settle it.

Clyne DID say that the remaining franchises would likely need further funding. But the Rebels are about to have the tap turned off. Cox (IMO) needs to work out whether to walk now and get a break fee, push on with a struggling team and keep puoring his money down the pit, or fall over around 2018 and hand the licence back gratis.

Apart from the $700 million Jones talked about, the question also needs to be asked what other bail outs have been made prior to the $28 million, to whom and what collateral was asked for. To which the answer is none IIRC. But there was no conspiracy to gian their licences in order to shut them down ASAP
