    That's old news,

The bluster coming from Canberra is no way will they merge, that will kill rugby in two cities.

With Rob Clarke having exceedingly strong ties to both clubs, I think it's a very doable scenario, unless his ties amount to the sort of incoherent nepotism we've seen so far from this joker.

Nothing will be solved, because the ARU are still set on killing the Force, unfortunately, based upon the fact that they didn't even bother coming to talk to the board, I suspect the injunction will be upheld and they won't be able to.

I fully expect, at that point, for them to go into panic mode because they don't have a plan b.

As much as it irks me I think the radio silence from the ARU could also be an indicator of its confidence. Maybe they are not talking to us because they feel they have no need to. Could there be an ace up the sleeve that we cannot see?

It's not old news if it has actually been happening. Bit of straw clutching maybe, but I live in hope that common sense (or fear of legal action) can still win the day.

It's damage limitation control. every time they open their mouths they show how little they have considered and how inconsistent their position is in trying to cull a super rugby side (us).

I would expect that their position remains completely unchanged behind the closed doors of ARU headquarters.

No, it's because the ARU leak has been filled by Georgina and the rest of her cronies being on strike

I dare say the radio silence from the ARU is because there is an ongoing legal process in place now. Anything they say could be used against them.

I'm no lawyer but I would love to see this dragged into the courts as that may force the process the ARU used to cull a side into the public domain.

    ARU COO Rob Clarke resigns

    Beth Newman Profile
    by Beth Newman

ARU chief operating officer Rob Clarke has resigned.

Clarke was believed to be earmarked as a potential successor to CEO Bill Pulver, after stints with the Brumbies and Rebels as well as the national body spanning more than a decade.

A former advertising CEO, Clarke returned to the ARU in 2014 as general manager of professional rugby, operations and marketing.

His elevation to chief operating officer in 2016 was his second stint in the role.

A widely respected figure among the rugby community, as second-in-charge at a national level, Clarke had been at the forefront of a turbulent time in Australian rugby.

Clarke was forced to respond to criticism from Western Australia in recent weeks over his links to the Rebels and Brumbies, as the ARU comes to a final decision about its Super Rugby composition in 2018.

The ex Rebels and Brumbies Cheif Executive. The first to hand in their "resignation" now the rain has started I wonder if St Leonard's will need an Ark.
