When whoever is pulling his strings tells pulver he's allowed to. Personally think the NSWRU are keen to get their hands on our playing roster, so I don't think it'll take long.

Now all that remains for us to hope is that ARU decide that not paying premium rates to stay in Melbourne is wise.

That or the force owners group to buy the rebels, move them to Perth, name them the force and charge the ARU 12 million for no good reason whatsoever.
Or merge Brumbies and Rebels and put them in South Australia

Now is the time for the Force/Western Australia to expend all ammunition! Those who have contacts need to get the Government to call Pulver tonight to make it clear the financial compensation will be demanded if the Force are cut. The ARU are most concerned with money, target them where it will hurt and get their attention. RUPA need to be contacted, maybe by Hodgson, to seek RUPA's immediate intervention.

Nothing can be left in the locker. Now is the time to go nuclear!

It'd be hilarious (to me anyway) if they all went NH, completely out of ARU and SANZAAR control.

Ps force are currently second in the conference with one game up on the tahs and Reds (safe because they're the wallaby nursery or some shit like that) rebels couldn't catch us with a bonus point win next week and we'd then have played both of our byes.

Chiefs game will hurt, but the tahs and Reds are really good at losing right now.

How do you cut force, second in conference, cheetahs, second in conference and leave both the rebels and Sunwolves?

Super Rugby to contract but Australian future still unclear
    Beth Newman
    9 April 2017; 6:10 PM
    http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2017/04...y-announcement

Super Rugby will consist of just 15 teams in 2018 with SANZAAR confirming one Australian and two South African teams will go, but Australia's future is far from resolved.

The competition will be split into three conferences of five teams, with an Australian conference to consist of four Australian teams, yet to be confirmed, and the Sunwolves.

The Jaguares will join a South African conference and the New Zealand conference will remain untouched.

Under the new format, teams will play every team in their conference twice and eight cross-conference matches.

The conference winners and five wildcard teams will play in the finals series.

The ARU is set to hold a press conference on Monday morning, after a board meeting this afternoon, but there will be no announcement on which team will be cut from the Australian conference.

SANZAAR Chairman, Brent Impey said in thr statement that the restructure was about an 'economic reality' of the competition.

“The decision to revert to a 15-team format reflects a consensus view of the mandated SANZAAR Executive Committee that met in London recently. It was not the determination of any one Union or stakeholder and follows a thorough assessment and review of the tournament over the last nine months," he said in a statement.

“SANZAAR is delighted that its major broadcast partners have after due consideration agreed to the restructured format within the existing broadcast agreements. Our broadcast partners are an important stakeholder and their vision for Super Rugby moving forward is the same as ours.”

“This decision has not been an easy one and we recognise the difficulty associated with reducing the number of teams in Australia and South Africa. Naturally we understand that there will be some very disappointed franchises but the tournament's long-term future and the economic reality of the business at present is something that had to be addressed.”

Impey said the decision to keep expansion teams Jaguares and Sunwolves in Super Rugby was part of their long-term plan, with both teams only in their second Super Rugby season.

“The decision to retain the Sunwolves is linked directly to SANZAAR’s strategic plan for the future. The potential for growth of the sport in Asia off the back of the establishment of the Sunwolves and the impending RWC in 2019 is significant. It remains an obvious focus for the organisation and a Japanese Super Rugby franchise is key to that strategy."

SANZAAR CEO Andy Marinos said change was unavoidable.

"This has been a long and complex piece of work and we make no apology for that. Super Rugby is unique in world rugby in that it is played in six countries across 15 time zones and has numerous stakeholders.”

“SANZAAR cannot continue to ignore the extensive feedback that it has received from fans, stakeholders and commercial partners around the integrity of the competition format and performances of the teams. We want to see an engaging, vibrant and competitive competition that delivers a strong high performance pathway in all markets that will have a positive flow into the international game.”

“It became clear during our strategic assessment that there are two facets to the future of our tournaments.

"The first is a requirement to react to existing market forces within the sporting business environment and to implement short-term change to Super Rugby. This is what we have done.”

The reviews are not over for SANZAAR, who flagged more changes to come beyond 2018 in 'coming months'/

“The second is the longer term vision, through a strategic plan, to build the brand that in the future can maximize further development of the game, commercial revenues and the ongoing sustainability of the tournaments. This work is presently ongoing and details will be released in the coming months.”

This is great GIGS20, but as I said on another tread, you have to threaten the ARU where it hurts - financially! Someone here has contacts with the State Government. They need to call Pulver tonight to let him know the compensation bill that's coming his way if the Force are cut. That is the only way the Force can survive, make it financial unpalatable for the ARU!

Next weeks Australian games are: Rebels v Brumbies & Reds v Kings, with the Force and Tahs having a bye.

Even if the Rebels beat the Brumbies (unlikely) they can't catch us, and I can't see the Reds beating the Kings unless the Kings go on strike, so we should still be 2nd in the conference after our bye, and have a 2 game advantage on the Reds and 1 on the Tahs!

I realise it almost seems hopeless but we must maintain the rage!

Please keep emailing the ARU, it is simple, just google "contact the ARU" and you can go to an email form to tell them The Force has secured its own financial future and there is absolutely no justification for cutting a financially viable team - to do so would betray the people the ARU is charged with supporting and represent an abject failure by the ARU in its core endeavour.

Saw Sindenberry on the field, ran up and told him we are supporting him and the force 100%. Could see he wasn't happy with he news but grateful for the support.

The only chance we have now is to make ourselves financial and win games.

This is where it becomes hard because if the ARU don't make a call and the Force get the minimum subscription they can start negotiating. But that means the capital invested is use in that process and if the ARU say no then the company is wound up, capital returned minus the costs of negotiation.

That is going to put a lot of people off and when the Force don't get the minimum then the ARU can safely wash their hands of us.

    Saw Sinderberry on fox.
He seems to know more than what he letting on.
He slipped up be saying it is down to two teams to be axed.
Reporter then queried him on that information.
He didn't seem too concerned, is that becoz his job is safe? Or maybe confident 'force are here to stay?
