That's a great point Gerry. Extremely hard to believe he'd knowingly doing that. I remember hearing our friend Papworth saying on radio last year that Stooke was the ONLY reason the Force had survived that far. At the time he was whingeing about the ARU "giving" Rugby WA money for IP rights.

Anyone know if, when such a decision is made behind closed boardroom doors, a director can be ordered to keep silent by other board members? Particularly when such a decision would adversely effect his constituents.

It's a fairly common agreement amongst leadership groups to show solidarity outside the meeting regardless how hard you argue inside, but I don't know that there's any way of forcing the issue.

That's typically the reason stuff gets leaked.

I got called away at half time, I didn't mind.

My big issue was the fact that the Reds didn't look like they were playing that bad. They made plenty of takes, didn't drop masses of footy and weren't penalised off t TV e pitch, their only real issue was not winning contact. At all, not once. The landers were able to secure quick ball off the floor with a 1v3 and secure turnover ball with only the tackler. Iirc all of the first half linebreaks came from the Reds moving backwards in contact.

Even the ones from the scrum

Hi All, Sorry if my first post is out of order. But it seems strange to me that recent reports that the ARU spent $33m last year in cash funding for the 5 Super Rugby teams, of which $3m was spent on the Western Force. Where did the rest of the money go? It seems like the question seems to be should the ARU keep the Western Force...., or Karmichael Hunt?

the betrayal i felt at the time, of the ARU not having any money to support the honey badger and a week later giving $3m to support hunts cocaine

Through the week we have seen a very strong message from the State Gov to the ARU. Both a call to Pulver and a formal letter. They can't ignore this. The ARU if pushed to reduce to 4 teams will have to look East. The Force over the years we have been in place have had by far the least financial impact on the ARU and whilst the timing of our so called "bailout" wasn't brilliant we are now well shored up and moving to take the franchise back from them.
We can all help push this over the line by showing our united Force and getting big numbers to the match next Sunday. The East will certainly be watching.

Our share of cash from the ARU has never been equitable with the other teams. It might interest some to know for example that the Rebels bailout the first time the private owner pulled stumps was over $12mm. The new owner negotited additional top ups from the ARU over 3 years of around $5mm. I think this runs out this year. The chance of the new owner actually turning a profit on the Rebels after his subsidy runs out is zero. My bet is he will walk away. Now if we compare this with our 12 year history with the ARU where I believe we needed around $1.5 of assistance from them above the normal annual distribution it makes a mockery of what the press might have you believe. With our new Road Safety sponsorship and an Own the Force outcome that reflects our initial show of interest we will have no financial issues and can concentrate on the building blocks of onfield success.

We really need the media on board, i remember last year leaving site, saying i was going to watch the force on break. A bloke originally from Vic and South Aus (massive AFL fan) said oh cool when did the season start i might go check a game out. I bowed my head and said this is the last home game of the season. His response was as expected. "Well their advertising shit then"

That goes without saying, especially if next Sunday week turns out to be one of the last 7 Western Force games played in Perth before the Force is consigned to perpetual oblivion.

However, I can't help feeling that it may be a matter of "too little, too late".
