The senior club rugby season gets underway this Saturday, 25 March with plenty of huge match ups scheduled to get the season started. Check out our pick of the matches to watch across the grades.

Pindan Premier Grade: Nedlands vs Wests Scarborough at The Foreshore, 3:30PM kick off.


A Grand Final rematch headlines Round One of the Pindan Premier Grade with Nedlands and Wests Scarborough facing off at the Foreshore. Wests got the better of the hosts in last season’s decider, defeating Nedlands 45-26 in a 100-minute thriller in extra time. Nedlands got the better of Wests in Round One last season and will look to do the same again, with a premiership firmly on the mind of both sides in season 2017.

Pindan Reserve Grade: Cottesloe vs Palmyra at Harvey Field, 1:55Pm kick off.

A dominant Palmyra outfit will take on Cottesloe in Round One of the Pindan Reserve Grade at Harvey Field this weekend, with ‘Pally’ keen to replicate their perfect unbeaten season from last year. Palmyra went 18 from 18 in 2016, before defeating Wests in the final to clinch the Premiership. This game will see a Semi-Final rematch and ‘Cott’ be out to redeem themselves after suffering a 24-6 in that match.

Pindan U20 Colts: ARKS v Perth Bayswater at Kingsway Reserve, 12:30PM.

Reigning Pindan Colts champions Perth Bayswater will kick off their title defence with a trip to Kingsway Reserve to take on ARKs. ‘Baysie’ got the better of UWA in a thrilling grand final last year and with a host of talented youngster again set to line up for the Numbats you can expect more exciting rugby from the men in black and white. Meanwhile, ARKs return to the Colts competition after a fews years out and will be keen to knock off the premiers first up.

Alcohol. Think Again Women’s: Cottesloe vs Palmyra at Harvey Field, 3:05PM kick off.

The Cottesloe ‘Shegulls’ will play host to the ‘Pally’ Women’s team as both sides look to get their 2017 Alcohol. Think Again Women’s season underway with a bang. Both teams enjoyed strong campaigns with Cottesloe finishing runners-up while Pally went down in the semi-final to eventual premiers, Wanneroo. With the strength of the competition growing every season both ‘Cott’ and ‘Pally’ will be eager to notch up an early win over a fellow finals contender.

Pindan Premiership 3rd Grade: Nedlands vs Wests Scarborough at The Foreshore, 12:30PM.

Runners-up Nedlands will challenge Wests Scarborough in a bumper fixture to open Round One of Pindan Premiership Third Grade at The Foreshore, with redemption on the home team’s mind, after going down by two points in the 2016 Grand Final to Kalamunda. Wests finished just outside the four last year and will be targeting a finals berth in 2017.

Pindan Championship A Grade: Rockingham vs Southern Lions at Lark Hill, 3:30PM.

The Pindan Championship A Grade season gets underway with a mouth watering clash between 2016 Premiers, Rockingham and Southern Lions at Lark Hill on Saturday. Rockingham took out the Premiership by defeating Mandurah 30-12 last season, with the Southern Lions being knocked out in the Semi Finals by Mandurah. The three-point loss will drive the Lions this season, with a tough first assignment against last year’s unbeaten team.
